The story on him coming out of school was that he was an "explosive" blocker with tenacity. He also has large hands and was called a "reliable"  receiving back.

 

He had two injuries in Atlanta and ended last season on IR.  It wouldn't be a stretch to see him beat out Ta'ufo'ou/ Chapas.  There aren't any super stars in that FB line up.

I spoke to a buddy of mine that's a huge Falcons fan, and he loves this guy. He said the same thing you just said. He said that, if he's healthy, he'll be an instant starter.

I kinda feel such sentiments as well w/o knowing anything about Ewing. The fact that Caldwell acquired him tells me that he has potential to seriously contribute other than ST as I initially projected...
