He's a 33-year old QB who's always been more dangerous because of his legs than his arm--and his legs are just about toast. He's completed 56% of his career passes, with his completion percentage a hair below 55% last year. He's also been incredibly fumble-prone (not to mention injury prone) throughout his career. Oh, and he's a convicted felon who is consistently voted the most-disliked NFL player. If Aaron Hernandez were eligible for the list in 2013, Vick probably would have beat him. General rule of movies is that you can murder all the gang-bangers you want, just don't hurt the dogs.
Somehow I get the feeling that the Jets were the only team desperate and/or dumb enough to give him a $5M contract.

They gave him the best offer, but other teams were interested. The Jaguars were one of those teams according to reports.
I didnt say he was a great player/person. Nothing you said changes the fact that he most likely got other, albeit lower offers.

I never said that he didn't get other offers, just that the Jets were the only team desperate enough to write him that big of a check.

I don't know if that was the biggest check offered - only his agent knows. I do think it gives Vick the greatest chance of starting.
I also find amusing your theory that his past has anything to do with anything (regardless of that made up saying about the movies and dogs.) I also think Vick might rank above Tebow in some fan polls.)
