I read this article about Ty Cobb last night.  It's rather long, but man is it interesting.  I am not a huge baseball fan, so I didnt know a ton about Ty Cobb.  I knew he wasn't the most liked guy, but I didn't know it went this far and on a daily basis.

Anyone ever read any good books on him?  I am going to look up his autobiography soon.

Cobb the Movie is based on this. Good read though

Good article. Thanks for sharing
Try Ty Cobb by Charles C. Alexander.

sounds just like  "True Denton Cobb"  (his real name)

he used to sharpen his metalcleats to cut second basemen trying to turn the double play

a " True" bastard

and that is why he was so hated

Despicable human

Gifted athlete

It's a long list that grows annually - but he really had the despicable thing locked down tight

I did a report on his biography in 6th grade, I think. I remember as I learned how much of a jerk he was thinking to myself 'why didn't I choose Jackie Robinson?'
I grew up in Georgia and read up alot on Cobb.

Probably the most gifted baseball player of the first half century.

But as bad a human being as the game has seen.
