I think that, because of the huge number of losses we've had to endure over the last few years, listeners have subconsciously associated Sexton with the kind of feeling you get when you listen to your team lose. It's like Pavlov's dog- ring a bell every time before feeding him, and eventually when you ring a bell he salivates. Same thing with Sexton. Almost every time we hear Sexton, we are losing a game. So just the thought of Sexton becomes associated with the feeling we get from losing. Sexton's voice becomes subconsciously associated with feelings of anger and depression.
Hence- people don't like Sexton.
I guarantee you that if, the next few years, we have winning seasons and go to the playoffs, people will like Sexton a lot better. And they won't even know why.

Personally I like Sexton and Lageman (and Boselli for that matter) hope they keep them all.
