That little brat should have got the belt after he hit the camera not once but twice.....and then he starts crying??? Laughing

also, lol at how easy going his sister is,...she didn't care, she'll just root for someone else.

TMD you better get to that baseball draft now.  No excuses.

Yeah that kid is a drama queen.

....I think pops knew what the kid's reaction would be.....he was baiting him for the camera.....clearly the kid knew he was being filmed. I liked the little girl's reaction.....quite more mature
Yeah that little boy needs some discipline.
Eh...the kid was upset at losing his favorite player.  The dad was poking fun at him and recording it.  I don't think he hitting at the phone is a big deal.

Steve Smith saw and reached out to him, so that's cool.

(You don't see the kid hitting at the phone as a big deal???)

The dad still should have made a point to correct him for hitting the camera.

I can just see how this will evolve as this spoiled brat gets older and things don't do his way....the hitting the camera will become punching people/ property damage and later, who knows what....

Hitting the phone/camera while his dad is making fun of him is going to lead to a criminal career?  Hrm.

Yep, the lesson the kid is learning there is its okay to hit things when you are upset or disappointed. While unlikely, one of those hits could have broke the phone/ camera if it was a direct shot. So - is it only an issue to you if the camera would have actually broke from the little brats tantrum? The dad should have made a point to sternly say "no hitting".

Meh, that wasn't too bad. An Eagle's fan kid would have grabbed the camera and chucked it out of the window trying to hit somebody with it.....
Ehh kid was emotional.

If it were me you'd have heard a "dont hit my camera again" in a stern voice then id have continued poking fun and asking questions. Gotta have the play voice and the "boy you do that again and its a problem" voice so they know the difference.

That said the little girl is awesome.

You really need to relax.  It's pretty obvious you've never had kids.

Exactly - the kid brat needed to hear that its NOT okay to hit things/ others property just because he might be upset/ disappointed.

Have you? The Dad should have made it a point to stop for a sec and say dont do stuff like that. Maybe not spank him or get onto him heavily but he should have at least said dont do that its not good even if he didnt raise his voice or use an angry tone.

My parents used to say "I give you an inch and you take a mile". I  thought it was dumb. I have a child of my own and it now has come full circle as one of the truest statements of my life. You really do have to take notice of things like that and squash them out before they become issues. You could even see in the kids face he wasnt sure if that was okay to do.

Edit: Also to clarify TMD i  wouldnt call the kid a brat he is upset over losing the player he has probably idolized his entire life and was likely the first player he called his favorite or could even say the name of. He made a reactionary movement to someone putting a camera in his face with the intentions of seeing him upset. He actually seems like a decent kid as he didnt continue any sort of tantrum after that.

I do, and if I was the one intentionally baiting the kid into a reaction I would expect the kid to get mad.

Ok, fair points with that last paragraph. Agreed with the first 2 paragraphs too.

Getting mad is one thing. Hitting the camera should be considered crossing the line.

I agree that hitting it is crossing the line, but I also think baiting your kid in that way is crossing the line.
