This team is screaming for a real disciplinarian (as well as a competent QB). I don't know if Mike Smith is that guy. I don't know if Coughlin is that guy anymore either.
If we could only luck into a guy like Belichick... The only guy out there that might be available that could come close is Saban and I really don't think he's available. Even if he was, would he consider the Jaguars? The money would have to be too good to be true and even then I still can't imagine him biting.

Saban bailed on the Dolphins first chance he got. Even if he wants to come back to pro football I don't want a coach like that.
The texans bench their 17 million dollar a year QB after some interceptions.
we hang on to ours for all these loses, interceptions and poor play.
Why, because henne "the mentor" is the backup?
Then he isn't a usuable backup.
please flush bbint and the mentor.
Lets move on to Allen....see what we have for next year, find a decent vet and draft a qb.
We have got to look to the future.
Quote:It will be bad but I wouldn't begrudge him not wanting to waste his time here.
We'll take him. He can come home to Tennessee.

You guys will probably be top of the division for the next few years too. Damn that actually might happen.
Titans are a good team. Thought they were rebuilding, i guess they can almost say its built.

What makes this worse is they still have a high first round pick thanks to the Rams.

Probably win the divison and have a top 5 pick. They putting this organization to shame.
We actually fired Mike Mularkey to make room for Bus Gladley. SMH

Fired Coughlin: he wins two Super Bowls in New York.
Fired Del Rio: he leads the first good Raiders team since 2002.
Fired Mularkey: he leads the comeback of the tacks.
At least I think we're fine with firing Bradley.
Our D is overrated. When the game is on the line they always give up long drives. Other teams just know they can beat us playing very conservative usually

Mike Smith is about as laid back as it gets. He's not a disciplinarian. He'd be a bad fit for a team that lacks discipline and attention to detail.

You'd be in a very slim minority of people who wouldn't be ecstatic at a Saban hire. It's also easy to judge him on that move without knowing the interactions that went on between he and the front office in Miami. I think his track record of success speaks for itself and should be more than enough to put that one questionable move to bed, personally.
Quote:You don't have a quarterback. Until we get one, we are rebuilding.

Yep, Dave Caldwell.
Same guy who selected Blake Bortles as our franchise QB.
Will be just as interesting to see who his next selection at HC will be, as well as what he does (or does not do) with the QB position.

Tell that to Dave.
Quote:I don't think we need to rebuild, we just need a coach that can install some bloody discipline and who can get decent QB play either with Bortles or someone else.
We need a guy who can fix all of Blake's mechanical problems in the offseason. We need a guy who knows how to make halftime adjustments and draw new schemes to see if players like this or that better.
Quote:Yeah, it doesn't matter, they will find a way to lose.
I said help. Not guarantee!
Quote:Again. This is not true.
Jags ran for like 200 one game and lost
I said help not guarantee a win

You mean like yesterday?
Late in the 4th qtr;
-Jags offense has the ball trying to drive for a go-ahead FG. They go for it on 4th down and fail. Turnover on downs.
- Jags defense comes in and forces a 3 and out (even aided by a clock stoppage due to an injured Texan). Defense gets the ball back again for the Jags offense with 1:10 left.
- Bortles throws a ridiculous INT,,,, Game over.
The defense forced a 3 and out to get the ball back and a chance for the offense at the end.
The offense failed 2 consecutive drives to get in FG range.
Defense did their job late (with the game on the line).
Nice try though.
