I'm not sure which forum to post this in but I just wanted to post it somewhere. I read a lot of articles on nfl.com and for some unknown reason, I can't help but read the comments at the end of each article. While reading the most senseless drivel ever seen on the internet, I can't help but shake my head at how little the average NFL knows about football, the salary cap, etc.

It also makes me realize how smart most Jags fans are that post on here. This isn't just a homer thread either. The other AFCS fans that post on here are WAY smarter than the people that post comments on NFL.com. I don't know if it's the Vic Ketchman effect, going through salary cap heck or what, but for whatever reason, Jags fans on here actually discourage signings while every other fan from other teams want to sign everybody, salary cap be darned.

The best was today when reading on the Emmanuel Sanders signing. The Denver fans not only praise all of these signings, they actually think they have a ton of cap space and that they're not mortgaging their future by signing all these aging veterans. One guy said, "Elway went to Stanford." Another talked about how they're masters of the salary cap (as if there's a secret that they've figured out that nobody else has). It's mind-blowing. I suggest you go on there and read some comments if you ever want to feel really smart.

Anyways, kudos to all of AFCS posters here, especially our Jag posters.

I think it honestly depends where you look. If someone were to read the comments on the Jaguars Facebook page they would think most Jaguar fans were complete morons. Same with the comments on the T-U site.

actually Elway did go Stanford
You may be right. I just looked at the Broncos' message board to get a better feel and it's much more logical than the nfl.com site. Still, you guys rock. Learn to take a compliment. Smile

I know he went to Stanford, I was following the NFL when he was in high school. My point was that this person thought that because he went to Stanford, he has a better grasp of how to manipulate the salary cap than other teams. It's ridiculous.

Just about every comment on the T-U site makes everyone in J-ville sound like a bunch of back woods butt heads that like to go around lynching people for entertainment!!!
Comment section under articles are very different than messageboards.  While there is some overlap (cough, cough junglecat) many MB members realize that the waves of idiocy spewed underneath  articles at NFL.com, ESPN.com and the TU website are not worth the effort of contribution.

That said - despite the ebb and flow around isn't without it's share of knuckleheads.  Nonetheless, I agree that we do have a good core of folks with a fair amount of football knowledge and somewhat level-headed approaches to discussing it.  Even when it gets a little nutty here - this forum also seems to be a notch above several others that I've checked out.

tacks fans are bitter little morons.  Seriously, read their MB sometime.

Yes, and News4Jax too.  I have noticed over the years that it is usually the same 20 people making the ridiculous comments on those sites, but if you just glanced you would think this is a really intolerable place!

I agree!! I try to stay away from the comment section on both those places!! Those are some scary people!!!
I can't speak for everyone, but I'm definitely smarter than anyone here. Definitely.

. It shows...
its NFL.com who do you think reads it but the less informed NFL fan. Its like the ppl who comment on ESPNs website. :teehee:

I dunno. Some of those Tebow threads made me question how some people on this board get through their daily functions without severe bodily harm.

I haven't seen a Tebow thread in months.

That's because most of the people posting them only show up during the season after a terrible game, and proceed to lament the entire Jaguars organization for not drafting Tebow. Most of them probably aren't even real fans anyways.

I do think that the admins should consider rewriting the CoC, and say that any discussion about Tebow will be regarded as spam. That way nobody will have to put up with this idiocy anymore.
