STRENGTHS: Smooth acceleration and doesn't take long to get up to full speed. Follows blocks well with controlled burst to weave through
After spending countless hours on researching this draft I see no way we cannot sign SW. He is one of the largest needs we have with the team not sure about Blackmon. Sammy had also his run with a Mary Jane conviction a couple of years ago so this may be a reach.
Sammy would open up our receiver screen we throw and would take 2 defenders with him at all times on the field. He is a playmaker. We may even draft another receiver in the 4th or 5th round
If Clowney is at # 3 we take him but he will not be there.
Bridgewater.. Yay another thread

R. Jay Soward = BUST - Druggie
Reggie Williams = BUST - Druggie
Matt Jones = BUST - Druggie
Marcedes Lewis - ok
Justin Blackmon = BEAST - Druggie
This line of thinking is just absolutely dumb.

I see one very easy way that we wouldn't sign Watkins: someone else drafts him.
I am interested in whose feet Dave was gushing over.
I only feel safe with Watkins,Mack, Bridgewater, or a no-linemen the draft is stocked with those.Clowney is idk project and Manzel game might not fit the NFL even tho I do love his talent.

Mayock was talking about this during his bowl game. He said that his mom moved to SC after that happened to ensure he stayed on the straight and narrow. Not sure if it's actually true but it would seem like a silly thing to lie about on national T.V. anyway if it is true it seems like he has a good support system and she'll probably move to Jax if we draft him to ensure he stays out of trouble.

Quote:During the offseason, Watkins healed while maturing emotionally. His mother, Nicole McMiller, his stepfather, James McMiller (whom Watkins considers his father), and two sisters are living in the Clemson area this fall. They moved from Fort Myers, Fla., where the family’s former neighborhood was plagued by crime and drug abuse.
Watkins says having family close by helps him focus on what is important.
“The things I had happen last year, it affected me without my parents being there,” he said. “That’s who I look up to the most, who I go to for things. I really wanted them to move up—that helped me with having someone to talk to. I can go over to the house and talk to my mom and dad, go see my little sister, play with her. It’s special to me.”

Alright, lets just keep drafting wr's in the top ten till we get the number one pick and then draft one #1 over all. Are we striving to be the Lions? This draft is ripe with WR talent. You don't throw away a top 3 pick on a dime a dozen position.
If wide receiver is a 'dime a dozen' position, why haven't we had a quality number one for nearly a decade? Just curious.
It's a very deep draft for WRs this year. Watkins may be a good selection, but you can get a quality starting prospect beyond the first, or even second, round. I would not use the first pick on a WR this year.
Dave is smart.. He won't draft Watkins at 3

Good WRs are dime a dozen, great ones aren't.
Is Watkins great? I don't see great myself.
If Bridgewater and Clowney are gone, Watkins would be tempting.

Thats funny, because all the guys that do this for a living do.

All of them, every single one?

Way to deflect the comment!
ADP across the net for mock drafts is 5.9 so pretty sure youre on your own island here.
I'd love Sammy in a trade down, which most likely won't happen but I do think he is the closet thing to a sure thing in this draft. Kid is going to be special

How many busts have been drafted at QB by certain teams in the first round? Should they stop drafting QBs too?
It's a terrible track record, but all were done by different GMs and scouts. If they are that scared to draft a position because of the past, then they have no business being employed in this field.

Don't say stupid stuff then.
What does it matter what other people think anyway? I didn't say it because I read it in an article somewhere, I said it because its my own insignificant opinion.
