four-year, $14.25 million contract.

Hopefully we can still get Mack or Puente, if not I guess we draft a center

That was my guy. Caldwell gave me a bad feeling they're giving Brewster and McClendon a serious look there though.

I think we still draft at least one starter at C or RG.

No doubt we draft there, but will they be ready to start the season over a guy like Brewster who knows the system and has started games for us?

I'm not a huge fan of Brewster. McClendon I actually thought played ok in the context of the rest of our guards.
We missed out. That's a very team-friendly contract for a quality starting center.

I do like Travis Swanson and I think he could start day 1

If there's a guy, I'm all for him!

Like I said, I've seen enough of Brewster.
I have a feeling Caldwell intends to draft a center in round three or four and let Rackley and McClendon compete with the rookie in camp.  I think Brewster won't make final cuts. (Richburg may be there in the third and Bodine in the fourth - both rated pretty highly by most draftniks.)

Just hunches based on trying to read between the lines in D.C. interviews.  They might sign DeLaPuente tomorrow for all I know.

Rackley, Stankiewitch, and Patrick Lewis in the mix as well.

Paztor can play RG, so I wouldn't be surprised if we take an OT in such a deep tackle class instead of a G in the draft.

OT is is stacked, G and C are thin (which C usually is, even though it's better this year than most.)

I'd say Richburg, Bodine, and Stork are all possibilities where we're likely to take one.
Didn't Brewster start out pretty good his rookie year? I seem to remember he played much better than expected. I believe we may make a run at a center but I'm still expecting at least two interior linemen in May to be joining us

Yes.  I didn't mention Stork as he's projected in the second round by some and I don't think Caldwell drafts a center that high. But it is certainly possible he goes in the 3rd or 4th.

That was a reasonable contract....makes you wonder why the Packers just didn't re-sign him if he's good and he cost that cheap.
I think Brewster is terrible. I think we just need to sign Mack.
It looks like the draft for a center.
It's a really poor C class overall. Marcus Martin is the only C in this class that I think will have a real impact. A couple average starters in Richburg and Swanson that will probably go day 2, and a couple decent backups in Stork, Larsen, and Ikard that shouldn't go until day 3.

We can draft a center, but that is one of the positions you would rather not force a rookie to start. We still need a half way decent vet.

This. He was fantastic and played in a ZBS. I think Caldwell missed the boat on this one.

Has Paztor played any RG snaps in a game yet, and if so, how'd he do? I haven't considered this angle before.
