Quote:I am holding out hope for Brian Blades or Mike Pritchard

I'm hiding if we get Blades -- dude killed his cousin !!!
Quote:I'll see your Largent and raise you a Jerry Rice.

Nothing says Seahawk history like Jerry Rice --- HA !!   I forgot about that !!!

If you're going Jerry Rice, I'm going Franco Harris.  He finished his career in Seattle.

Just speculating for fun here. But if we think C in FA, then maybe draft could look something like this

1. Mack (Clowney gone imo)

2. QB

3. OG

4. WR etc

Obviously BAP is a huge part of the puzzlie but lets say if BAP and these positions lined up properly that could be a good start to the draft, IMHO

Cheers!

Quote:So far I've been mostly impressed with the offseason.  Was hoping for Young and still kinda hoping for Thurmond but, overall i think it's been upgrades and depth all over the place.

So...The way i figure it, the next move should be to call up the agents for centers, Mack, Deidrich-Smith and De La Puenta.

Thoughts?   Should center be the next priority or some other direction instead?

ps - totally didnt bother to look up the spelling for those names Smile

cheers!
The next move would to bring in "Joe"...

Maybe he could slap some sense into Blackmon..
I'd really love Alex Mack but it probably isn't happening. I heard we really like center group in draft including Stork from Fsu. I personally feel like we already have to many Seminoles lol

I was wondering when someone would make that connection.

The problem with waiting til the 2nd round for a QB is every team that needs a QB will have picked twice before our 2nd round pick and the Browns will have picked 3 times, by then all the top QBs will be gone and we will be stuck getting the leftovers instead of getting the guy we want.
steve smith actually makes alot of since to me... if we take smith to a 2-4 year deal, he can play as our #1 while we figure out the blackmon situation and he is someone who i feel can make an immediate impact and help a young guy if we have to go that route cause of blackmon.... he has cycled through a hand full of coaches, schemes, and qb's since being at carolina so i dont think he will be effected by the change... im sure he will cost a bit, but i feel like its a move that could pay off.

Quote:I think Mack is a great center, but I don't think he fits well in a zone-blocking scheme. The best ones for that scheme to me are:

Brian De La Puente and Ryan Wendell
I'll be more than happy with one of these guys. Definitely a good sign that no centers have been signed yet. Hopefully it'll be a bargain acquisition.

Please Alex Mack. If we do. Best free agent period so far.

That is what I am hoping as well. If those guys are good enough to be starters for Brees and Brady, then surely they should be good enough for us....

And hopefully at a contract that wont break the bank.

it will be bigger than Zane's contract... thats alot of dough being tossed at the oline but it would basically complete our oline.
Alex Mack would be great.

I really think we are lacking on the d-line.

LOL... yea for sure, hate that we haven't addressed this at all yet.
We need more seahawks too
