Has anyone heard anything..ANYTHING out of him? Kind of weird Peppers and Ware are getting all the publicity.  Didn't even know he was a free agent until this morning.

I read a report from Rappaport that he is prepared to retire if he can't find a contract that he likes.

<p style="margin-left:40px;">"...He wants his market value, he wants his fair salary, and if he does not get it, Jared Allen is very much at peace

Dude's made so much money that he'd better be at peace if he can't land a mega-contract.

Makes sense. Dude is the same age as Clemons and younger than Babin/Peppers.  Just curious as to why I had not heard his name being thrown around.

He should be able to atleast get the same kind of deal Demarcus Ware got. He is so consistent and doesn't appear to be on the decline yet (I know he is 31). I could see the Falcons maybe going for it, offering a 2 or 3 year deal to get his last legs out of him.

i'm very suprised not to hear his name a lot more during the FA chatter.  he is a good veteran to have on your team.

had 11.5 sacks last year...

If Jared Allen doesn't get the type of offer he's looking for now,   it's possible that an injury to an edge rusher will lead to the team offering a contract that satisfies Allen.  It wasn't until Chargers OLB Melvin Ingram torn his ACL last May that Dwight Freeney ended up agreeing to a contract.   Allen's leverage is he's already made a boatload of money in the NFL.   He can afford to wait until an offer that comes along that satisfies him,  even if that offer never comes.

I think it's more likely that if he doesn't get the offer he's looking for by training camp, he'll just pack it in. With as much money as he's stashed away, why risk a debilitating injury on a one-year, low-dollar deal? He'd probably still be a great pass rusher for a couple of years, but he's got outside business ventures in KC and Minneapolis and had no incentive to be an injury replacement in camp.
