this is big in terms of the landscape of the draft unless they go after vick or mallett or something.

Jaguars need to bring him in, open competition

I'm not ready to consider Richardson a bust yet. He was too freaking good in college to not let him play the breadth of his rookie contract out. If the Colts bolster their OL, you may see a resurgence of the Trent Richardson of old this year. With Donald Brown signing in SD, Grigson better hope that's the case.

So the 49s could have offered the brownies the same 6 rd pick conditional 7th next year for weedon but just chose gabber over him. Makes ya wonder how bad weedon really is or how good they think gabber can be.

Brandon Weeden was only good in college because he was throwing to Dez Bryant and Justin Blackmon, who were even together for like 1 or 2 years before JB became the star of the team.
I don't think he was ever expected to become an all-pro or anything.

Based on performance and how long the two players remained with the Browns, off the top of my head, I can't think of a worst 1st Round duo. It's a great question that you raised. The only thing that saved the Browns from epic disaster is the impulsiveness of Colts owner Jim Irsay.

As crazy as it sounds, considering Blaine Gabbert's struggles in Jacksonville, Gabbert is a better fit for the 49ers system than the relatively immobile Brandon Weedon.

Dumped their other QB as well...forget his name..ex Buc..Freeman?
Guess who is drafting a QB?

Ringo, the other QB you are thinking of who the Browns dumped is former Redskins and Bears QB Jason Campbell. Right now, in essence all that remains at that position in Cleveland is Brian Hoyer, who is coming off a torn ACL.

The Colts had the first two picks in the draft in 1992 and took Steve Emtman and Quinten Coryatt. Emtman blew out his knee and Coryatt played like a 4th rounder. Mind you, those were the #1 and #2 overall picks.

I seriously wonder about the mentality of someone that comes on the board throughout the day just to post stupid crap.

Jury is still out on Richardson (let's see him spend a full year in Indy.)
But as for Weeden... the precedent was set with Rip Van Weinke. They should have seen that a mile, no two miles away.

I see at the bottom they released Jason Campbell, too. What a disaster. They make us seem "set."

Remember both players well. At the time Indianapolis made both selections, their future on Defense looked promising to say the least.
Because Steve Emtman's career was derailed by injury in the manner that it was, I'm reluctant to call him a bust is the purest sense.
As for Q. Coryatt, my take on him is while he didn't live up to the billing of a high 1st Round pick, I thought he was more along the lines of a 2nd Round caliber player.

While they weren't high 1st Round picks, the old Los Angeles Rams had two 1st Round busts in 1988: RB Gaston Green and WR Aaron Cox. The Rams traded Eric Dickerson to Indianapolis the previous October 31. Bad draft decisions with the picks they obtained for Dickerson and with many of their other picks set the stage for the team declining substantially in the 1990's. That set the stage for the move to St. Louis when Anaheim Stadium became a ghost town when the Rams played.
