Quote:Unless Ryan Broyles comes back from a torn Achilles tendon, this after 2 separate ACL injuries around a year apart, the Lions still have a missing piece at WR.

A major benefit with Golden Tate is his versatilty at WR. That gives the Lions the flexibility to add different types of WR's. Based on what the Lions add at the position and Broyles' latest comeback attempt, that IMO will go along way in determining how much Tate plays outside vs. the Slot.

Watkins?

The Lions likely would jump at the opportunity to take Sammy Watkins with pick # 10.    I'm not counting on Watkins being available.

On the other hand,  Mike Evans has a better chance of being available in that draft spot.    As of now,  I think CB Justin Gilbert is the most likely selection for the Lions,  with Evans still a realistic possibility.    At least one of those two players will probably be available in the pick # 10 spot.

One thing that can't be overlooked in trying to project the Lions pick is in the last 4 drafts,  Martin Mayhew selected 3 Defensive Lineman and 1 Offensive Lineman in the 1st Round.
Golden Tate is very good receiver and if they take Evans they will have the best Wr core in the league
