one has to wonder if it has anything to do with the now missing flight, the stabbings in china and the fire in san Fransisco?

Praying everyone is ok and the first responders are safe.

I got this update on my phone from yahoo. Crazy stuff. Some of the pictures I saw with the article of pictures people had posted to twitter looked pretty bad.

1.3 miles from my apartment.

2 dead 17 injured so far....

Thank you, man.

I have a feeling that this was a gas main issue. (8 inch gas line runs across 116th street underground)  But its too soon to know for sure.

That said - I have been impressed by the NYPD and federal agencies' efforts to keep NYC safe from terrorists.  At the same time - I'm almost amazed that there hasn't been a successful bombing yet.  I know that sounds weird and dark - but sometimes when I board a downtown train I realize how easy it could potentially be for one of these zealots too do something horrible.

I'm looking forward to living in Florida again.  I'll enjoy my remaining months here - but I won't miss that uneasy feeling I get when I ride a subway through a major station or drive through the Holland Tunnel.
They are reporting it's a gas leak...
