I would rather see him go to a team that can compete for a championship

Sucks for him...DiRocco of ESPN thinks there is still an outside shot of him coming back, but I just don't see it.

Realistically, the Jaguars closed the door on MJD coming back this season. At this stage of his career, I don't think that MJD would be the complimentary RB for Toby Gerhart that the team brass likely envisions.

Jets HC sees MJD as the Tomlinson of ~5 years ago when he signed the then aging "over the hill" Tomlinson and used him quite well.

Very good analogy.
L.T. helped keep some key drives alive for the Jets. While L.T. no longer reminded anyone of the player that will eventually be in the HOF, he made the Jets a better team with his remaining skill set and especially his intangibles.

He will play for a few more years and then get a gig on NFLN.

If MJD signs with the Jets, my guess is he will get some media opportunties even before his playing career is over. With a future on NFLN or another network probable. Another compact RB, Tiki Barber, benefited greatly from an opportunity standpoint by playing in the NY Metropolitan area.

Didn't Tiki get fired?

Wasn't that because he left his pregnant wife for an intern at the studio where he worked... Or something like that.

A big market like NY would benefit MJD's future and side opportunities.

Ewww. At least its not the Titans I guess...I will still get sick seeing him in a Jets uniform.

The grass is not greener over there Drew. The colts would be a good fit but I'm not trying to see that lol.

Crazy idea is if they really bring in Vick, and add MJD. Those two if healthy would make them a nasty threat.

Yup, that's going to implode sooner than later. Surprised it already hasn't.

Exactly. If Tiki Barber played his entire career in Kansas City for example, I seriously doubt he would been given an opportunity on the nationally televised ' Today Show' on NBC.

3 or 4 years ago maybe.

I really do hope MJD finds a nice landing spot outside of the AFC South that offers him a nice 3-4 year contract. Shame how injuries rob sports fans of great athletes sometimes. I will always appreciate MJD's time and service here. Will never get rid of his Jag jersey in my closet. The Gabbert one on the other hand..
