We need to change our draft approach completely. Forget need or BAP. We need to draft guys that will be on this roster in three years. No more Rod Issacs. No more Derrick Harveys. No more Blaine Gabberts. No more Eben Brittons. And no more punters. We need players.

While I agree that it's better to have guys that you want on your roster after three seasons than not, this thread is about the approach to Free Agency. Specifically, as Bullseye pointed out, does a "Need" vs "BAP" discussion take place?
It isn't really complicated as we like to make it.
FA fills needs.
Draft fills talent (BAP.) If you've filled needs, then you have the freedom of BAP and avoid the danger need may tempt you from straying from it.
