Anyone who has watched the video and still has an issue with what he said needs to look in the mirror and realize what you are about in society. Are you happy with your life?

i despise you people for legitimizing this blake drinking narrative

I didn't watch any video because I don't care enough to, and yes I am happy with my life. Thanks for asking.

Bortles is a loser with a terrible work ethic. Nothing to see here I guess.
Wow, even MJF gets the "tongue in cheek" comment Bortles made.

FWIW...I think he "gets it" and better improve everything about how he plays the position.

The 2017 season for the guys staying on the roster, starts Sunday with texans.

It would be a real good time to start showing the world he's serious about improving.

He's going to face competition next season for sure and being the starting QB will be his job to lose.
I think most of the people on this board have aspergers
Quote:Can you imagine Tom Brady or Peyton Manning ever saying anything like this? I can't. I know he was never going to be either one of those guys, but at least try to emulate greatness.

I absolutely could see Peyton saying something like that. He loved to joke around.
He is joking

He has already made plans for offseason training with Tom House and his staff il LA.

He knows how bad he is playing this year, and he is trying to fix it. Can't blame him for that.

Quote:No, that's Blake being Blake.

I actually thought it was a pretty good line.

If our record was 6-7 that may not be funny but at 2-11 it's kind of hilarious since we're in the comedy zone here in Jax

My thoughts exactly.

Kind of like Ben w/ his "Nerf Footballs" comment.

People seem to forget these guys are human beings with personalities.

Personally, I thought it was hilarious.  He's probably had to answer the INT question a thousand times now and decided to mix it up w/ some humor.  I'm 100% ok  with that.

I have no idea what "tongue in cheek" means and can't see it.

What I do know is Blake's body language after bad passes - including pick sixes, of course - shows everyone he does not like making the mistakes that result in interceptions.

Most people on this forum love to criticize everything even when it is unwarranted.
Too late to delete it now, but I shouldn't have written post #7 in response to Kane.  So I'll sit back and take the criticisms about posting it for now.  I've dealt with multiple people with addiction problems who have attempted to lean on me over the years which I'm sure I'm not alone in.  As a result, I've grown to be quite good at detecting BS when I see it and I have little tolerance for it.  I'll just say that there are enough bread crumbs left by Bortles for me to be greater than 50% sure he's not going to work out as our QB or perhaps anyone's starting QB in this league.  I'm also pretty certain he's going to be our QB next year regardless and I hope he's able to turn things around because of that.

Again, the comment by Bortles was funny but in the totality of the situation he probably would have been better served by not saying it into a microphone in my opinion.

Point taken about Peyton's sense of humor, but I still don't see him saying anything like it in the context of having his performance questioned.
Anything to start a thread I believe, must be a prize at the end of the year. No one is defeating Jaguarmvp, he is the thread starter master. I listen to the clip and thought he was being funny, did we really need a thread for THIS??

a good attempt at self-deprecating humor.  Maybe the next HC will try him out at LB or TE. <tongue deep in cheek>

Quote:I know Blake was not being serious when he said that, but the comment implies he does not care if an opponent catches one of his passes. It is easy to see why somebody would have an issue with what Blake said.

"I know Blake was not being serious when he said that....."

this after a poster above you said it was "tongue in cheek.

What to you call this?

Guess the cats out of the bag.....(don't tell me you don't understand this saying).....you do it when you want to....when you want to troll or argue....and add more posts.

I am serious about not being able to figure out this whole "tongue in cheek" thing. Nobody ever told me what TIC means or anything like that and I can't figure it out.

I guess this kind of comment is what people call "making light of a bad situation." You know, when people try to find humor about something bad that happens. I know people do it but don't like it.

BTW I do know "cat's out of the bag" and even where that idiom comes from.

"Cat out of the bag" - when a Jags fan takes off his JagBag before driving home after yet another loss...

Yet you cared enough to make a thread about it and make yourself look like JW.

Bravo.
