1. Houston Texans- DE Jadeveon Clowney (The Texans can't afford to pass on Clowney, I think they target a QB in with their second pick, whether it's Jimmy Garropolo or Zach Mettenberger. Drafting Clowney also might give them some leverage in their future contract negotiations with JJ Watt).

2. St. Louis Rams- OLB/DE Khalil Mack (I think the Rams choose the best available player here, and that's Mack, who IMO is the best player in this draft)

3. Jacksonville Jaguars- QB Teddy Bridgewater (the more I study Bridgewater's tape, the more impressed I am. Cool, calm and collected in a muddied pocket, extremely accurate in the short to intermediate passing game, enough arm strength to stretch the field horizontally, extremely smart. When I watch Bridgewater, I see a guy that looks like a future all pro at the next level, he's one of the more polished QB's coming out of college in a long time, his pocket manipulation and eye level remind me of Drew Brees, Bridgewater is more athletic than Brees with more arm, IMO, this is a high floor/ceiling player.

4. Cleveland Browns- WR Sammy Watkins (an early Christmas present to whoever is playing QB in Cleveland)

5. Oakland Raiders- OT Greg Robinson (Jared Veldheer is scheduled to become a Free Agent next Tuesday, Oakland needs help in the trenches)

6. Atlanta Falcons- TE Eric Ebron (Every mock I've seen has the Falcons selecting a offensive tackle or edge player, however those are two of the deepest positions in this draft, I like Ebron in this spot, he fills a need and is one of the best Tight End prospects to come out in the last 5 years).

7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- DT Aaron Donald (a disruptive 3 technique with the athleticism of Warren Sapp and the strength of Ndamukong Suh, he's a future all pro at the DT position, there's no pressure like interior pressure)

8. Minnesota Vikings- QB Blake Bortles (Bortles is not an immediate impact starter like Bridgewater, but he offers immense upside if he's allowed to sit for a year or two and develop, that's usually not the case with QB's taken this high so he'll probably start right away)

9. Buffalo Bills- WR Mike Evans (I can also see the Bills taking a tackle like Taylor Lewan here, however they did have success waiting until the 2nd round of the 2012 draft to select OT Cordy Glenn, who's turned into a great player, I can see them taking the same approach this year. Mike Evans is a Vincent Jackson clone, and would offer a legit weapon in the passing game Buffalo hasn't had since the Eric Mould days).

10. Detroit Lions- CB Darqueze Dennard (He ran better than expected at the combine, and is a true shutdown corner, this is a no brainer for a team that consistently struggles in the secondary)

11. Tennessee Titans- QB Johnny Manziel (It wouldn't surprise me if Johnny Football became an all-time great, or is a colossal bust, he's the most polarizing draft prospect in recent history. Jake Locker is obviously not the answer; I think coach Whisenhunt pulls the trigger on QB here)

12. New York Giants- OT Jake Matthews (opponents literally lived in the Giants backfield last year, they have one of the worst offensive lines in all of football, this is a safe pick that should pay dividends for the Giants offense).

13. St Louis Rams- OT Taylor Lewan (Jake Long is coming off a nasty knee injury, he was actually playing pretty well before the injury, if he comes back to full strength the Rams will have bookend tackles, if not than a guy like Lewan is a nice insurance policy)

14. Chicago Bears- DT Timmy Jernigan (Chicago had one of the worst run defenses in NFL history last year, need I say more)

15. Pittsburgh Steelers- WR Kelvin Benjamin (The Steeler haven't had a weapon like this since the Plaxico Burress days, Kelvin Benjamin is a nice compliment to the shorter quicker receivers on the Steelers roster)

16. Dallas Cowboys- S Calvin Pryor (this defense has holes at every level, the Cowboys could go a variety of different ways on the defensive side of the ball here, Pryor is an absolute stud that hit's like a missile and has underrated range)

17. Baltimore Ravens- OL Zach Martin (Mike Mayock thinks Martin can play every position on the offensive line, this bodes well for a team like the Ravens that struggled mightily last in year in pass protection and run blocking, they could take a receiver here, but it'd be wise to rebuild the trenches)

18. New York Jets- WR Brandin Cooks (Fast, quick, & explosive, Brandin Cooks reminds me of Steve Smith with better long speed, he's a true stud that will be an immediate impact player from day one)

19. Miami Dolphins- DL Louis Nix III (Miami has needs on the offensive line, I can see them shoring up most of those needs in FA and drafting a DL in the 1st round, the Dolphins need to get younger on the interior of their defensive line as Randy Starks & Paul Soliai aren't getting any younger. Scouts have compared Nix to Vince Wilfork, if develops into anything close that this is a homerun for the Dolphins).

20 Arizona Cardinals- OLB/Edge Player Anthony Barr (Barr presents tremendous value here, he's not a finished product, but has the upside and athleticism to be a 10-12 sack guy year in & out, he adds talent to an already talented defense)

21. Green Bay Packers- OLB/Edge Player Dee Ford (If his medicals check out it will be hard for the Packers to pass on Dee Ford, he's a nice compliment to Clay Matthews, Matthews is a guy that has battled injuries the last two years as well, the Packers need depth at this position)

22. Philadelphia Eagles- S Hashean Clinton Dix (The Eagles have impact players on every level of their defense except the secondary, Clinton Dix is one of the best players available at this point and fills a need

23. Kansas City Chiefs- WR Marquise Lee (Kansas City has one of the worst receiving corps in football, Dwayne Bowe is over the hill, Donnie Avery is just a guy, if Lee came out last year he would've been a top 10 pick, he presents a value at this point and fills a need)

24. Cincinnati Bengals- CB Justin Gilbert (If Gilbert falls to the Bengals they'll sprint to the podium and select him, he fills a need and has huge upside, big, strong, fast, and productive, he also has value in the return game.

25. San Diego Chargers- CB Jason Verrett (The only knock on Verrett is his size, however that shouldn't stop the Chargers from selecting him in the 1st round, he's an explosive athlete with fluid hips, and has been compared by scouts to a young Antoine Winfield. The Chargers secondary was consistently shredded by opposing QB's last year, they also have holes at WR, OLB, and DL, so they could truly go a number of different ways with this pick.)

26. Cleveland Browns- WB Derek Carr (If Cleveland somehow comes out of the 1st round with both Sammy Watkins & Derek Carr that'd be a huge success, and I think it could happen. Derek Carr offers Aaron Rodgers type upside with his howitzer for an arm and underrated athleticism, he could develop into one of the better QB's in football, if Brian Hoyer comes back healthy from his ACL tear they wouldn't have to rush Carr if he's not ready, I really like his potential, and he's my second rated QB behind Bridgewater)

27. New Orleans Saints- WR Odell Beckham Jr. (The Saints have always had an underwhelming receiving core, Marques Colston is a possession guy, Lance Moore is just a guy, and Kenny Stills/Robert Meachem are strictly situational deep threats. Beckham Jr is an underrated route runner and can blow the top off defenses, the Saints need to get more explosive out on the perimeter)

28. Carolina Panthers- OT Morgan Moses (OT suddenly became a need with the retirement of Jordan Gross, Carolina could look at a receiver here as well)

29. New England Patriots- TE Jace Amaro (one of the best players available fills a huge need with one tight end consistently injured and the other in prison)

30. San Francisco 49ers- CB Kyle Fuller (CB is one of the few weaknesses on the 49ers’ roster)

31. Denver Broncos- ILB CJ Mosley (somewhat of a forgotten man, it's certainly possible Mosley will go higher in the draft, however the middle linebacker position is one where teams have had success in finding productive players in the 2nd-4th rounds in recent years, so it's not wise to take one high in the draft unless the guy is a Patrick Willis or Luke Kuechly, Mosley isn't on that level but is still a very good player albeit with durability issues.)

32. Seattle Seahawks- WR Donte Moncrief (a pure upside pick, one that the Seahawks can afford to gamble on, if they're right, Moncrief offers Josh Gordon like upside)

Bridgewater and none of the other QBs are in the top 20 on Caldwell's draft board.

I sure hope he isn't.  If it's on the internet it is true.

I still think Bridgewater goes #1 and that scares the hell out of me.

As for the mock, I don't agree with all the picks, but it is interesting.  I enjoyed reading your commentary.

To nitpick with my opinion:  Atlanta already has a TE to take the place of Gonzalez, the 6'8" Levine Toilolo.  Plus, Ebron's stock has dropped I believe.  IMO, there's no way the Falcons don't run up to the podium with "Jake Matthews" on the card in the scenario. For Tampa, I know DT Aaron Donald has risen up the boards, but I will be surprised if he goes that high.  He will be far from BAP there, and Tampa has a few other needs that will mirror the talent available a little better. I could see them taking QB Blake Bortles if he fell to them and K-Mack is off the board. I can't see Pittsburgh taking Benjamin over some of the over higher rated WR's there just to get a guy that is built like Plaxico Burress, but you never know. I'd think they'd take Ha-ha at Safety.

I also see New Orleans taking a WR in the 1st, and it would be cool if home-state LSU's Beckham fell to them.  Carr paired with Watkins and Gordon in Cleveland would be fun to watch.

Thanks I appreciate your feedback, I can definitely see Atlanta taking OT, that position is so deep it wouldn't surprise me if they went in another direction. I watched Levine Toilolo in a few games last year, and while I think he could develop into a solid red zone target, I don't believe he has the type of quick twitch athleticism required to be an impact player in the NFL. I could be wrong, but I think he's more of a 2nd tight end (a blocking tight end) rather than a receiving threat. I agree with your sentiment on Kelvin Benjamin, I believe he'll get over drafted as teams are looking for the next "Alshon Jeffery", Benjamin has boom or bust written all over him. It's been rumored that Ben Roethlisberger wants bigger receivers, that's why I mocked him there; Mike Evans should be off the board at that point. As far as Aaron Donald goes, he dominated the regular season, he dominated the senior bowl, and he dominated the combine, I think he offers incredible upside, he's more athletic than Geno Atkins with the strength of N. Suh, he might be the BAP at that point in the draft, only time will tell.

I agree with you to an extent on Toilolo, but I just don't think Ebron goes that high to anybody, and especially to a team with such huge needs on OL and DL.  I could see Pitt trying to trade up to get Mike Evans.  He could be a target of one of the many trades I expect in round 1.  Look for the Broncos to possibly move up also for an impact player to replace Decker or Von Miller (out part of the year).  Whoever gets Donald will have one heck of a player, but his height will keep him around the middle of round 1 I would think.  Like you said, only time will tell.
