Do any of you even watch football? McCluster and Welker comparisons? Even the Thomas comparison is off. Ace is shifty but slooow. He'll play out his rookie deal but unless we get an above average qb he won't top 1k yards in a meaningful way.

You say Ace is "slooow" and ask us if we even watch football? He ran away from a lot of people

who did he run away from?  screened defenders?  ace didn't make many open field moves to bust loose against good defenders.  that was justin blackmon.

He did in the highlight film multiple times.. Go watch it

In a highlight reel a player is running away from defenders? Wow. Incredible.

You asked what aces ceiling is and a non biased response is not very high. He's an nfl player no doubt. But to say teams are game planning for this guy? What a joke, no defensive coordinator is going to lose sleep over aces game breaking potential. If ace beats you then so be it, selling the farm to double ace is wayyy beyond where he is now.

He's not a superstar but when both Jaguars receivers are healthy/not suspended, he's a guy you probably have to watch out for.

Ace isn't fast, but he isn't by any means slow. He's a 4.5 guy with great moves. Most of his potential comes on punt returns which rely more on shiftyness and quickness rather than speed. The speed came on the next pick in Denard.

IF he works on his hands and route running he could be a real weapon.

Ok so now you admit that he did in fact run away from defenders in the video after you said he didn't lol.

And yes, the way we were using him at the end of last season had other teams keeping an eye on him for sure. They try and gameplan for everything and Ace was a solid part of the offense in the second half of the season.

Your wrong dude. Just enjoy having a good player for once.
Quote:Gabbert looking good on those throws to Ace.
Lol 1 td 7 picks in 2 games, looks can be deceiving can't they.

Slow?  Drugs R Bad MMKAY
Quote:Another good comparison. Probably better than my Welker one. Only difference is McCluster is a lot faster.

McCluster has awful hands... he didnt even really play receiver in college

Agreed.

Ace will probably have many seasons like last year as long as he can stay healthy, but I wouldn't expect much more than that.
A high quality Jaguar highlight video? That's new.

I have no issues with what he did last year, now let's get a QB who can get the ball down field and these 5-10 yard gains turn into 15-20 because the DBs will be backed off defending the deep ball.

What's so off with the McCluster comp. McCluster (in his fourth year) had his career high in receptions and yards (53/511/2 TD's) while Sanders had 51 for 484 and 1 TD as a rookie. McCluster right now is a better returner but it's not far fetched to see Sanders being among the better punt returners in a couple years.
So Ace is slow and wont improve much from a rookie season with Chad Henne as his QB. Got it.

I see a Devone Bess type when he was in Miami

A more accurate comparison
He is a solid role player and as teams like the Pats show year after year, with the right QB, that can be worth 100 catches.

Realistically though he is never going to be anything special.
