My vote goes to 2010

2011 was pretty bad too. Outside of Cam, all of the QBs taken in the top 20 were busts.

2010 was pretty bad. But there are some worse.

1996

99 had some real duds based on where they were drafted. Tim Couch first overall. Akili Smith third overall. Cade McNown 12th overall. This draft also had McNabb and Culpepper, but it also produced the likes of Joe Germaine, Shaun King, Brock Huard, Kevin Daft, Chris Greisen, Michael Bishop, Scott Covington and Aaron Brooks who actually put it together briefly in New Orleans.

I would say 99 was really good, it had duds but guys like Shaun King an Aaron Brooks over achieved, most drafts are only gonna have a few QBs that turn out good. 

 

But year 2007 def the worst predraft and looking back after they played in the NFL

I'm gonna let you finish but I just wanna say that 2007 had one of the worst drafts of all time

2011 was bad, but most of those guys would have never been drafted in the first round had it not been for the new rookie pay scale. Since you didn't have to break the bank to sign your 1st round QB, it allowed more flexibility to over draft. I think last years will go down as a pretty bad one. Just due to the fact that there are almost no guys that I can see starting for their teams in the foreseeable future. Manuel was a bit of a surprise, but he doesn't seem like he can last very long in the league

I dont like Locker, but he has shown signs.

op  2002 and 2007 were both  worse than 2010.

I'll say 2007...iirc the best of that class was Kevin Kolb...yeah 2007 gets my vote.


I would say 2002 but honestly David Garrard IMO is/was better than Kolb as a starter

Agree, but there were still Kaep and Dalton in the 2nd round. And maybe Mallett also learned a thing or two from Brady and could become a good QB when he gets a chance.

Yeah 2011 isn't the worst, for the Jaguars it was tho

 

2013 was pretty awful 

Well, 2013 has Glennon, and no one else at this moment, but you have to give it a couple years. It does kind of look like 2002, where David Garrard looked to be the best of the bunch, but I think Carr played better than Manual (no idea why he was drafted so high), and Geno.  But it takes time. '07 is pretty bad, got a comple of decent backups in Thigpen, and Stanton (feels a little bit of stretch now that I say it). Kolb is a backup too. No long-term (5 years for me) starters at QB at all though. I will vote '07 for now.

Clearly the author was batting 1000 on hindsight, and really not that good at all with foresight. With quotes like "Carr clearly exceeds Alex Smith and JaMarcus Russell in value while failing to reach Carson Palmer and Eli Manning."

 

"David Carr is probably one of the best 40 quarterbacks in the league right now, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to place Ramsey or Harrington in the same class if they were still in the league." Even in 2010 I would have thought it a stretch to place Joey 'Blueskys' and Ramsey in the top 40. Well especially Ramsey, he just wasn't good.

 

Anyway,it was a neat introspective, and it was interesting, thought I would add it.

I think Geno may be ok. He had a few good moments, and didnt have much to work with. Glennon was far and away the best of the class! (agree on Manuel, he did have toys to play with and really didnt look like anything special)
