All it takes is a DUI to probably win a superbowl ring. Who woulda thought.

It's New England. Win at all costs. That is why they are perennial playoff team. So what these kids like to swill. Who doesn't. Who gives two [BLEEP] as long as they can ball out. Drunk [BLEEP] Blackmon should still be ballin out for us. League needs to get with the times. A DUI doesn't make someone a second class citizen.

Shrewd move by the Pats. I look for his stats to go way up in New England.

Just picked him up in my league

I don't know about this... I wonder what the deal was. He's not a bad receiver, but certainly nothing special. I certainly wouldn't sign a guy like this to a large and/or long term contract.
That being said though, the Patriots are in the playoff picture and need every weapon that they can get.

Quote:Patriots just claimed a better receiver off waivers than we have on our entire roster.
Michael Floyd has been a disappointment every year he's been in the league. I'm not doubting that New England might be able to get something more out of him, but they'd turn Lee and ARob into the best receivers in the league if they had them with Brady throwing the ball.

According to NFL.com he was having a bad year statistically.

He isn't suspended?

I'm not sure.

NFL.com did not report he is.

He's gonna look like an all pro wideout now.

Quote:He's gonna look like an all pro wideout now.yeah like all those other patriots receivers that look like all pros right now

Nah not even close. Floyd lacks athleticism of Lee and the High point catching ability /route running of Arob
Maybe an upgrade over Hurns but that about it

It certainly helps when you have among other things an All Pro QB, a differential power RB, and one of the best Offensive Lines in the NFL.

Tom Brady can make every decision look smart, even stupid ones.

So the Patriots pick him up on a rookie deal to take advantage of him for the rest of the season. Who knows, maybe he catches lightning on a bottle in the playoffs with Brady throwing to him. He'll probably be suspended next season, if at all, and at that point he likely won't be on the Patriots anyway. Man, how do they always manage to have the edge on the entire league? Incredible.

How do they have an edge on the entire league? He hasn't done a thing except get a DUI.
You might want to wait until he accomplishes something before you praise the Patriots.
Take a flyer on him? Sure, why not. A stoke of genius? Hardly.

It's the kind of calculated risk they've done quite well with. It's like someone giving you 10/1 on something that's really a 5/1. Keep getting those opportunities and you'll come ahead over time. So yeah, I'm giving them credit for picking up a 27 year-old receiver with a 1,000 yard season and two others with over 800 yards.
