Quote:He loses a lot of credibility when he states that Geno Smith would be the best QB in this year's draft.
Which means Blaine Gabbert would be the best QB in this year's draft, according to 2013 Caldwell.

Quote:Or, the other folks could be right and you end up asking yourself how you missed again.
It can go either way.

Quote:Funny thing is, if Simms had said Bridgewater was a top 5 pick- The posters saying he has no idea what he's talking about would be calling him a scouting legend!lol, yeah these Bridgewater fans are funny. Kind of like the Tebow cult.
Quote:Not really. Nobody that I can remember compared Geno to Manning, or even Luck. Last years' draft was fairly weak at the top. People wanted Geno, sure. But nobody acted like he was great.May want to go back and look! Geno had Super Bowl attached to his name before the draft last year!
Quote:Whoa, hang on. You were a HUGE advocate of the "Blaine needs more time" position after his first year. You agreed he couldn't be written off after one year.
Geno objectively showed more than Blaine did in his first year (and every year since, I might add), but he's a bust after year one? He wasn't good, mind you, but I'm not sure why one guy gets time and the other doesn't in your mind.
At any rate, Teddy is objectively better than Geno.

Honestly, Geno was a better prospect than Teddy B.
Quote:I'm 45 years old and have been a giant football fan since I played offensive guard in highschool. I think I know what a good QB looks like...
PS, its not Bridgewater.
Honestly, Geno was a better prospect than Teddy B.

Quote:If Clowney is there, you have to grab him. I think the team is looking at the Seahawks model as well. Maybe Mettenberger in the 2nd or McCarron.
Just my gut, but Manzeil is intriguing. Definitely will bring excitement. But as for anything that says " sure thing" and a rare individual, it's Clowney.
But, so goes the crapshoot they call the draft.
Quote:Since you chose to jump into the middle of someone else's conversation, what we were discussing and comparing how he missed the Geno with our first round pick last year. I said he wasn't worth it, but was with our second. Flash forward to 2014, and I'm suggesting he's overvaluing a QB once again.
Sorry to burst your assumptive bubble.
Quote:If you do that then rank them from Lucks draft to 2015. Then see where people rank.1. Luck
Quote:It's very arguable... Geno had much bigger performances, especially in the first half of his last season. Teddy was more steady a performer, but never had any HUGE days like Geno did. I'm certainly no Geno fan, but I suppose some folks memories suffer from bias for the most recent and forget the headlines he was making. Geno was much more risk/reward, where Ted has been pretty consistent. There probably isn't as much difference between the two overall than some may want to believe.
As, it's been stated before, some don't think any of these QBs have first round grades and aren't sure fire franchise candidates... and that's where Geno fits based on where he was drafted. So, it's certainly plausible whether you agree or not.
Quote:Yes, you're right...there's not much difference between Bridgewater and Geno...aside from decision making, pocket presence, timing, and accuracy. Oh and that one played in a pro-style offense while the other played in a spread. Or that one's deep ball can be questioned, whereas the other has the deep ball listed as his strengths.
Yes, you're right. There's not much difference between Bridgewater and Geno.
