Jaws took off his drawers and took big steaming crap all over Manziel.
Do people still take him seriously?

Jaws?

Yeah...I do.

no
I'd say that if you like Johnny you don't take Jaws seriously haha.

Quote:Jaws?

Yeah...I do.

He said Kaep could be the best QB of all time... How can you take someone like that serious?
A lot of people don't like Manziel so I'm not knocking his opinion.  Just for me there are several personalities I put above him as far as talent evaluation goes.   He's supposed to be this big time QB evaluator and gives no explanation whatsoever of his opinion and says his evaluation is incomplete, yet still complete enough to know what round he would draft him in??

Meanwhile, Ron Jaworski chimes in...

I saw Warner on NFL Network yesterday.

All he talked about was how incredibly impressed he was with Alabama QB A.J. McCarron.

I guess he reads this board for all of his material? Ninja

Manziel doesn't fit the mold and it really fogs up Jaws' lady glasses that he cannot blindly assign praise based on prototypical characteristics of a strong prospect (like some of his past darlings who maybe never panned out). I say an SEC qb who came a hair shy of 10k total yards in two seasons requires at the very least a deeper look.

1.  He said COULD be.

2.  Kaepernick, despite his flaws, has won since he's started.
And now Phill Simms chimes in...

Oh no, an analyst knocked the guy I like.  That analyst must be clueless.  Let me find an example where that analyst was wrong once and that'll prove he knows nothing.

Simms also said Geno Smith would be the best QB in this class. C'mon.

These people need to stop overrating arm strength, Teddy has good enough arm to make all the throws, Manning didnt have great arm strength put he can make all the throws and pick a defense a part thats what its all about
But...but...that one article said Bridgewater sucks

Suppose Jaws is right about Manziel and the scouts and GMS agree, and Manziel is not drafted until the 3rd or 4th round.  Also suppose that the Jaguars end up with Bridgewater in the first round.

Also recall that Khan said it is possible the Jaguars would draft two QBs this year.

If the Jaguars were committed to drafting two QBs this year, would you want Manziel to be that 2nd Quarterback taken by the Jaguars, or do you think his persona is so overpowering as to cause a controversy?

Yes.. I think Manziel has that chip on his shoulder where he thinks he has a lot to prove at the next level to silence his critics.. That chip can really drive someone to do great things..
Jaws talks a good game, but I don't hold much weight to it. I respect his opinion, everyone is entitled to it. But I don't agree with him, yet. I'd take Warner's opinion over Jaws. Warner played the game closer to how it's become than Jaws. Totally different time and game now.

GO JAGS!

Every single major college program(except A&M) passed on Johnny Manziel as a Quarterback when he was being recruited. Nobody wanted to touch him, and nobody offered him a scholarship at the QB position. The main concerns listed were that he was 'too short' for the college game, and he had gotten into some trouble in highschool. Texas, Oregon, and every other big school who even considered giving him a scholarship, wanted him only as an athlete/and eventual cornerback.

That sort of stuff does something to kid. And it's clear now that he's got a freaken chip the size of Texas on his shoulder.

Listen, you can hate Johnny's game, his attitude, dislike him as a player, and even a person, but don't under any circumstances underestimate what the kid can do on a football field. Just ask jobless Mac Brown and a whole list of other top college programs who'd give their left [Bad Word Removed] to go back in time and give that short kid with a bad attitude a shot at QB.
