A year removed from ACL surgery and a sub-par season after signing a ridiculously high contract will do that to a guy.
Thoughts?
As you said, a sub-par year after an ACL. No one is going to pay him 16 million a year.
If he restructures, I'd trade a 2nd or 3rd for him.
I'd be leery.
You don't get rid of someone like that unless they are worried he's simply not going to return to form.
I'd have to say pass on this one. Too much risk.

This could set a record for the largest restructure (cut) in history.

I think as long as you're not trading a 1st, the risk is minimal
Sub par? He played pretty well.
Team B sells the farm and pays team A a king's ransom for a player.
One year later, team B wants to trade the player that they sold the farm for.
One could only conclude that they feel that they made a mistake with that trade, or they wouldn't be shopping Revis.
I hope nobody's serious about wanting the Jags to fall into that trap.
I guess the "name cheerleaders" will still want the guy, but I doubt anyone with a hint of cognitive skills would.

Not really.
Didn't the Colts give up a 2nd for Vontae Davis? I look forward to seeing more moves like Richardson
Thinking the browns could make a move for revis, maybe giving up a second and pairing him with Haden and tj ward! Of course I don't see him making 16 million wherever he's at next year
SF sounds like the best scenario
I'm thinking the Bucs might try to use Revis to move up in the draft.

You bring up an interesting scenario...
Lets say that Bridgewater is available at our pick and the Bucs come calling wanting to trade up for him. They offer Revis, a 2nd, 5th, and 6th round pick to swap.
Would you take it assuming Revis will restructure his contract?

I wouldn't. (In the Jags current situation). If I was a team like San Fran, or other contender that was looking for that final piece type, then maybe my opinion would be different.
I don't consider Revis worth a first rounder at this point, he's an unknown quantity given his post injury play - he may never get back to his old form. A 5th and a 6th rounder are pennies. So basically you're getting a 2nd rounder....big whoop.
I'd pass on that deal.

In my scenario I didn't say give up the #3 pick entirely. I said swap it with the #7. So we are only moving back 4 spots and still remain in the top 10 of the draft and also gain an extra 2nd, 5th and 6th along with a shutdown CB.

Oh, sorry I mis-read. That would make it more enticing then.

I would do that in a heartbeat.
