Bortles has the prototypical size teams love, and looked pretty good in drills. He still needs work but I feel like a team like Houston won't pass up his measurables or the fact he is a gamer. I still don't think he is a better QB than Teddy but that is my opinion. Anyway if the Texans go this route where does that leave us.
A couple of days ago I would have said Teddy or Clowney but I am not so sure about Clowney after the supposed freak athlete who promised a crazy combine showed us little more than the fact that while is a freak physically he might be kind of lazy. Of course I could be overstating the lazy stuff. What do you guys think?
Bridgewater at 3.
Never was a Clowney fan, maybe its the immense hype but I don't think he'll be that good on the NFL level.
I honestly have no idea at all. We could go any number of routes. I would say our top 3 board looks like Clowney, Mack and Bridegwater in no particular order.
WR class is way too deep to take Watkins. Manziel is too much of a wild card for Caldwell. Honestly, I haven't been this split about who the Jags should take in a very very long time.
Depends on our staff's evaluation of the prospects intangibles. If they think there's a franchise QB, take him. If they think Clowney can work well, him. If neither, Mack.
You sprint to the podium with Clowney's name on the card.

Unless Teddy is on the board still, of course.

I'm tired of this debate, so we'll just agree to disagree.
If they think there's a franchise qb, him. If not, take Clowney if they think he can overcome his work ethic problems. If not, Mack.
I thought throwing at the combine didnt matter... Now it propels a guy to 1st overall in some people's eyes?
Maybe Johnny Goofball and TB should have thrown like men.

It's a dream scenario, because it would leave us with either Bridgewater or Clowney, and that would be excellent trade bait to get someone to trade up to our pick.
My strong preference, due to the depth of this draft, is to trade down.

Ideally, if we don't think there's a franchise guy AND Clowney isn't salvageable, we could potentially trade down to 6 and still get Mack, in addition to anywhere from a fourth to a second. I could see it as.
1. Texans - Bortles
2. Rams - Watkins
3. Falcons - Clowney
4. Browns - Bridgewater
5. Raiders - Manziel
6. Jaguars - Mack
Trade down! Honestly I'm to the point that I want us to trade down no matter who is sitting there.

Warren Sapp just said on NFL Network Live he doesn't see the love of the game in Clowney, the love of the hunt when he turns on the film. He said "I am ashamed to look at the film. No aggressiveness, no hunt, and there is only one way to play the game which is to play like your hair is on fire."
Ouch.
Basically, the way I see it is if Teddy is there at 3 (regardless of who's taken ahead of him), he's the Jags starting QB this season.

Who cares what Warren Sapp thinks?
I truly believe if Clowney is there at three we'll trade with Atlanta and then take Mack. I would love that scenario too.

Exactly. People treat stuff said by the jockocracy as gospel. Sapp is a clown.

And get what in return? their 2nd round pick? Also what if Teddy is still on the board at #6?
#6- Teddy
#39- Ford
ATL 2nd round- Seferian Jenkins
Would love that.

People were ripping Peppers saying "He doesn't truly love football because he also spends his time playing on the basketball team." I am hearing Peppers 2.0 all over again.

Warren Sapp is one of the greatest defensive line men ever, and he knows all about playing with fire an Brimstone. You must be kid to saying such garbage
This is easy, Bridgewater on the board??? Take him and run
