Quote:Mike Mayock also praised Blaine Gabbert before the draft more the Cam Newton, Mack is a great player but no way he goes number 1
You could do this for every scout
Count me in as being happy with Mack. Guessing we would put him at OLB into a Von Miller role since he can play the run and the pass.

He would be our Sam.

He would only play LEO you don't pick lbs in our system that high they don't blitz in this scheme he's a pass rusher

According to the article I posted, he would be Sam in a 4-3. The article also says he would be better in a 3-4 defense.

Yeah in a 4-3 he would play Sam but he is better as a pass rusher so we would put him at LEO which is a de/lb
Do you know why he would be? Let me give you a hint it's because he's a pass rusher
smh. People still don't understand our defense
Mack would be our SAM. He's a Julian Peterson type swiss army knife that would be kinda wasted doing any one thing. I think we'll get our LEO in the 2nd or 3rd round...an Attachou, Lynch, Lawrence, Murphy type.
Solid pass rusher, can play outside linebacker and/or defensive end and/or LEO, basically any number of ways in which he can help this defense become less sucky. I'm good with that.
If Bridgewater and Clowney are gone, it would be tough to pass on Mack. He can do some good things.
If Mack is that good of a pass rusher, I'd like to think we wouldnt have him dropping back in coverage all that often.
Mack is gonna be a stud, no doubt. However I would caution people against saying "we won't stay him because his coverage would be wasted."
Good coaches can modify scheme to fit personnel. The idea of a 4-3 pass rushing linebacker wasn't around until guys like Miller and Smith. That's not to say Mack would be like them, but versatility is never a weakness.

Even if Clowney is still available I would have a hard time passing on Mack for the same reason Mayock said: better work ethic.
