The Lions have a lot of problems, but of all things some people want to criticize how Matthew Stafford wears his hat.

Quote:<p style="font-family:arial, verdana, helvetica;color:rgb(34,34,33);">When the backward hat is coupled with losses, it creates the perception among the public that Stafford is carefree. The older generations view it as just plain disrespectful. "I cringe when I see him wearing it like that, especially talking to the press or after an interception," one general manager of a winning team told me.
We went through the same thing with Leftwich. He wore his hat wrong, his chinstrap wrong, etc..

It's what the weak minded hold on to when they aren't intelligent enough to justify their criticism.

Yeah I read this last week, how ridiculous. If he were winning most of the time nobody would say anything about it at all.
He's always worn his hat like that...they need to get over it!!
Sad.

How can he wear his chin strap wrong? I don't remember his helmet falling off.

I never considered wearing a hat wrong a sign of stupidity.
It is a pretty silly thing to criticize, but an easy one to avoid for him if he wouldn't do it.

I think the biggest perception problem with Stafford is that so many people overrate him.  How many other QBs could also post monster numbers (albeit without the quality wins to show for it) if they had Megatron to play pitch and fetch with?

Such is the state of the NFL and the portion of the fanbase that's driven by fantasy football.

I don't care if he wears his hat backwards but if he smiles...I'm outraged.

Are you a Lions hater?

Excellent Stallone reference.
It's easy for people to criticize Stafford when he played in a system that has a HORRIBLE defense and had to win shootouts.

Wouldn't that means it is easy to criticize the defense?
I remember a few months back Collin Cowherd taking about the "backwards hat guy." Of course he talked in depth about stafford as that. Also in that group was Romo.

No, not at all.
WHO CARES.

Now if it were a depth perception problem, I could understand.

Ahhh backwards hat is so illogical! Now instead of a redneck he is a redface! Who wants to be a redface! Wear that hat correctly young man, or wiseman will bump you down to a 6th round draft pick with that whipper snapper Manziel.....  Tongue

I've witnessed guys wearing their hats backwards using a hand to shade their eyes.

They don't grasp the concept of a hat...
