Quote:Am I the troll here? I mean I've never once attempted to incite negativity on this board, but sometimes I'm, uh, recreationally impulsive; and I would imagine a bit abrasive to the more petulant variety of forum-goers. I mean well, though...

Just because you bring nothing *pertinent* to the table doesn't necessarily mean your content is intentionally obnoxious. Does it?

"I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells."

Right?

Only those with sense recognize nonsense.
sounds just like me.

Quote:This isn't so much an issue with the website as it is with private entities, but say for example that someone agrees to a "Contract" with a private entity to sell them into slavery.

Now as you all know, Slavery in America is banned under the 13th Amendment, but since the person in general signed an agreement to be sold into slavery, despite slavery itself being defined as a grave offense on Human rights, would it be legal?

This is all purely hypothetical, but it's worth asking.

I take it you've never been married, JWDY...

Did you really need to push this any farther?  Everyone already knows this basically, and it's really in poor taste to make a topic  with the sole purpose to put someone down.  Especially someone who cannot say anything about it.
Quote:Illegality is an absolute defense to non-performance. Since, in the eyes of the law, the contract is not legal to begin with, there is no obligation. You can can sign any kind of contract, but the enforcement of the contract will never be upheld unless the obligation is recognized in the court of law as legal activity.

Disclaimer: My wife the lawyer told me this.

Plus, the 1st amendment begins with "Congress shall make no law". The 13th amendment has no such qualifier.

From what I have heard from various mods and admins on this board, the decision not to allow Political and Religious topics on the forum had nothing to do at all with the Jaguars being a private organization and not wanting to allow such topics to be posted on their forum, but rather because of the "venomous" behaviors of users on here when discussing such topics.

The admins eventually got tired of it, and decided that they were not having it anymore.

Did you really need to call him out like this? He seems like the kind of Mod that could go all Modpostal and knock off an entire Mod team with a Bazooka that is loaded with green, and red play-doh. ... Well, if he does, you just remember the Mod massacre on Christmas Eve will be on your hands.

Let me know if you need back-up.

He's not a Mod, but you are right to be scared.

You're right, well I'll be, you usually can't swing a dead cat over your head without hitting a mod around here.

Quit throwing dead felines at me!

And I posted the article because I found it interesting.   I mentioned no single poster specifically.  Actually, I figured a few people might read it and be reminded of themselves.  LOL

It's a lot easier than swinging a live one. You ever try that? Not fun. Not fun at all
