Tampa Bay is getting a new helmet and a new logo... again. Warren Sapp even hints that it has a chrome grill.

I dunno if I qualify as a uniform obsessor or not, but I don't see why Tampa changed their uniforms.  I thought they were cool as they were.

I don't get why they're doing it either. I always thought that a new logo was a very, very difficult thing to pull off, business-wise.

 

I wonder if this goes over well, will this be any more pressure on Snyder to change his team's name?

Years back, when Tampa Bay changed from the "french buccaneer guy" to the flag and new colors- that was an incredible improvement. 


 

Do you remember the flap over Denver changing to the WLAF (World League...) helmets?

Probably a dumb move.  I thought it was one of the coolest in the league.  Unlike Cleveland, it's also associated with success.

 

But then, I like our unis too.

Nobody started a thread about the Dolphins getting a new logo last year and it was a dramatic change (swimming instead of jumping dolphin). What did you all think of that?

 

I never understood why the Vikings felt they needed to modify theirs. It is just a little tweak, not a major alteration like ours, but seemed to get a lot more attention from the media.

Probably because it was a bit overshadowed on this board by a different team's uniform change.

I actually like the Dolphins change. The old logo was somewhat cartoonish. 

 

The Bucs haven't had as much success since their super bowl win. Sometimes a change is nice. We'll see. It worked out for the Seahawks and Broncos I guess...not that I really believe a change in logo has anything to do with success anyway.

It's a simple, but yet classic look much like what the Niners did with their jerseys a couple years ago.

True, but somebody mentioned the Vikings changing theirs.

Solid upgrade in my opinion.

 



 

A picture of all three helmets seems to show a lighter shade of pewter. Is that just the lighting?

No I like our changes. Now it looks more like a real jaguar. At first I did not want the logo to change, but now when I put on my Jaguars clothing, I think I need something with the new one.

Jags logo is fine. I just don't like the helmet too much

I like getting the matte back on the black half. They would be purrfect if they were all black.
