Due to the cowboys poor cap situation, they might cut ware. Still an excellent pass rusher, would the Jags jump on the chance to add a good veteran?
Quote:No.
Maybe you can elaborate? Is he not better than any pass rusher we have?
You asked if "the Jags jump on the chance to add a good veteran?". I say no. He's 32 and the team clearly is building with youth. If he is released, why would he come here anyway? More likely to go to a team closer to competing for a title. Think about it. He's been in the league for 10 years and has 1 playoff win.
I'd bring him here in a heartbeat. Tough guy, competitor, team captain. I get that he's on the downside of his career, but I'd love to have him in Jacksonville.
That being said, I can't imagine Dallas letting him go. They will probably let Jason Hatcher walk, but not Ware.

I understand we are building with youth but it doesn't hurt to have a good veteran and team leader who will produce when on the field.
All depends on the salary he's going to command.. If its not terribly high, absolutly without question you bring him here and it would be idiotic not to try..
I'd take him over Babin, but neither are longterm fixtures
A team in contention will give him a one year deal in the hopes that he can help them over the hump.
That is if he even hits the street.
Wouldn't they still absorb a big cap hit if they cut him?
I feel like Jerry Jones will pull something out to keep him. If he did hit the market, id be ecstatic if he came here. Mentoring our youngsters would be key, that's a man reason why Alan Ball and Trufant were brought here, aside from depth. Only thing standing in our way of landing him is if he either A) Wants to go to a contender I.e. Denver or B) He wants a big payday, which given his recent play, I feel he does deserve it, but understands he won't get a long term deal. I see him either staying with Dallas or going to Denver or even Arizona, the latter has built a pretty nasty D
If he gets cut i say he goes to the Saints to be with Rob Ryan

He is a good player and will command a lot of money, but he would be a short term fix. We aren't in need of short term fixes.
There are teams out there who are actually in need of short term fixes. They would be more willing to pay the money he will command because he fits their needs.
If we were a few more years along in our rebuild, he might have been a good fit.
Dallas has some serious cap problems:
Romo $21 million
Ware $16 million
Carr $12 Million
Whitten $8 mill
Miles $8 mill
They are going to suuuuuuuuuuuuuck next year.
I think if he hits open market Atlanta make a play for him
For reasonable money I'd love to see him here. Youth is great but we still have way too many needs to fill with one draft. Instant upgrade to the pass rush!
Ware is going to Seattle if he gets cut. He is a cheaper solution than resigning Bennett probably will be.
That's just my 2 cents though.
At 8 million dollars dead money if that happens, no.
I for one am an opposing AFCS fan that is very much in agreement that the Jaguars should continue to attempt to get younger every year, every year.
It's been an awesome plan. :woot:
