Johnny Manziel made a strong statement about being a "Texas boy" & wanting to stay in Texas with the Texans. He did a little clean up, by stating it'd be a big mistake for the Texans if the Jaguars drafted him and they had to play each other twice a year. I'm a big Manziel fan, and it could be his competitive nature in wanting to be drafted #1,I just didn't think it was smart. To early in draft process & I'd rather have Clowney any ways.
Imma just leave this here...
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">DD:
How can you root against a kid like that?
AA:
Because he's from Texas and has no affinity for Ohio and Cleveland beyond what someone put on index cards for him.
He pouring out the slop bucket down the line, and the hogs are gleefully eating it up with a tear in their eye.
Not to say a player from another part of the country can't come here and become a fixture in the community. But Manziel is just sucking up to the top teams and their communities. He's running for office, and this is just his idea of kissing a baby. The women folk are falling all over themselves.
<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">

<p style="color:rgb(40,40,40);font-family:helvetica, arial, sans-serif;">I for one hopes he gets his "wish"
I hope the texans take him, would bode well for our future
I can only guess that the majority ofJags fans that do want him on their team would be mature enough to overlook a Texas boy wanting to remain a local hero.
He's going to be an interesting story to watch - but I have to many doubts to put him at the top of my wish list.
I don't think the Texans want Johnny Manziel. I read he would be a bad fit for the new offense, so it would be a big mistake for them to pick him. The Browns said they are willing to trade up for him, but they would have to deal with the Rams because the Texans would not want to let us beat them to their guy by moving down to #4.

Manziel looks like he would be a bad fit in their offense. Browns are not trading up for him. I bet more that they are hoping Dave/Gus get silly, drunk and high at the same time chose Manziel and let Bridgewater fall to them.

If they are really worried about the Jaguars picking Bridgewater, chances are they will leapfrog us to pick him at #2.

The most likely end game scenario

However gus and snead are best friend, we may have a leg up for less
Hopefully Teddy does good in is interviews and can trick the Texans GM in to taking him. Would much rather play him twice a year than face Manziel or Clowney or Watt. Manziel is the type of QB that will give defense headaches.

Manziels the type qb defenses are licking their chops, heck i would be too
Id much rather play manziel, his game is easy to break. Bridgewater would be a serious problem especially if no clowney
Texans take manziel and i am overjoyed
looking into this draft I'm kinda hoping that we don't take a qb, and all the QBs fall. I'd rather have Cloweny, and the more time i have to stew over it, if Watkins is on the board at our pick, I'd rather have him over any of the Qbs that aren't bridgewater, but i feel that there really is enough depth that we could get a guy in the second round.
John Elway personally wanted to be drafted by the Seahawks due to his Wife having Northwestern ties. And Tom Brady wanted to be a 49er due to him growing up in the area.
Both QB's ended up greatly contributing to the teams that they were drafted by. Even if it wasn't what they had personally intended.

What does that have to do with anything?

John Elway did literally nothing for the team that drafted him.
Everybody wants to be drafted by the Texans because they have the number 1 pick. Clowney has said it, Bortles has said it, and Teddy has also said it. And also, what you left out, is that he also said this
"If something happens, and it's the Cleveland Browns, I'm going to pour my heart out for the Dawg Pound and try to win a Super Bowl for Cleveland," he says. "I don't care if they've had 20 starting quarterbacks since 1999. I'm going to be the 21st and the guy that brought them the Super Bowl."
"Johnny Manziel is the guy that -- whether it's Houston, Jacksonville, Cleveland or Oakland – you'll have to drag off that field before I stop playing for those guys. Those are my teammates. Those are my brothers from now on. I'm going to fight until there's no time left on the clock. That's Johnny Manziel."
So yeah, how about you read the entire article and not a snippet. Some of these threads are silly.

Lets say Bridgewater came in at the combine at 6'2-6'3 at 215lbs and at his pro days displayed a powerful/elite arm
I would say teams like the Brows and Raiders would be willing to trade up for the top qb in the draft.
Dave (I meant Dave) and Snead are good friends, and Dave said it would take our 1st and a possible 3rd or 4th to move up to Rams spot.
That connection could come in handy
Also, responding to some posts above, no team is trading up for Bridgewater and it would be a mistake to take him at 3 when better players are available.

Vino you have no idea what you talking about. He is the only legitimate 1st round qb in this class and the Raiders have been rumored to be interested in him.
You don't know what can happen.
