And Asian.
Quote:I guess that automatically makes me the #1 Irish poster on this board.

Thank you all for this prestigious award of being the #1 Irish poster. Luckily for everyone I have had a speech prepared in the event of such an award for months...ahem...

A Uachtaráin na hÉireann, Máire Uasail Mhic Ghiolla Íosa, agus d’fhear céile Máirtín, Uachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael - Seán Ó Ceallaigh, agus an mhuintir dhílis Chorcaí, seo chugaibh Corn Mhic Cárthaigh don dara bliain as a chéile!

Seo í an tríochadú craobh… craobh iománaíochta Contae Chorcaí, Corcaigh abú, rebels abú, up you rebels!

Is fada an turas é ó Fhidsí go Corcaigh agus ó Chorcaigh go Páirc an Chrócaigh. Is mór an onóir dom glacadh leis an gcorn ar son foireann iontach iománaíochta Chorcaí, agus bainistíocht na foirne agus ansin muintir dhílis Chorcaí a thugann sár-thacaíocht i gcónaí dúinn. Go raibh míle míle maith agaibh go léir.

Hey, off topic, but my wife and I are taking a trip to Ireland. Do you have any quick recommendations on what we should see/visit?

The Guiness brewery and Old Jameson distillery in Dublin are pretty fun and a bit different to standard tourist jounts. Even just walking up and down the Liffey in Dublin is pretty great at night time with all the lights and activity. Achill island is a barren island on the West coast of Ireland with cool pubs. Again it depends on what kind of experience you are after.

Outside of that Cork or Galway has a real Irish feel to it with tons of tradusic pubs and that kind of thing if you are into it. Glendalough in Wicklow is a scenic lake that's nice to look at but very little to actually do.
Thank you. We are staying in Dublin, most definitely doing Guiness and Jameson. And then we have a few of the touristy things like the Cliffs and Giants Causeway on the schedule.

We left a few days blank so we could explore or get some suggestions outside of the typical touristy spots, so I really appreciate you taking the time to write that out.

Aren't you the only female moderator on this board?

No biggie, when you coming over? If you want to really immerse yourself in Ireland you might want to go to a hurling game. Its our native sport and is absolutely violent. Tickets are cheap as [BLEEP] and its probably the most uniquely Irish thing you will witness over here.
Quote:Sure we could. I want the Bears and Vikings to lose!

That's because you want Green Bay to win,, which D6 DOES NOT want that to happen, I can assure you.

A Packers loss gets Detroit in the playoffs according to NFL.com

We head out tomorrow night and will be there until the 23rd.

Holy crap I just looked up Hurling. Looks awesome. Is it in season right now? How would I go about getting tickets?

Seasons just over unfortunately. You can do tours of Croke Park though, its the GAA headquarters/stadium.

Christmas time is Dublin at it's best. Enjoy yourself.

LOL Lions win + Packers loss will do it. This is what I found on NFL.com:

What's at stake: The Lions can win their first division title in a quarter century Sunday if they defeat the Giants and get a Packers loss or tie. They can also tie against the Giants and still win the division if the Packers and Vikings both lose.
