True. Oversight on my part.
Quote:Jr amateur message board draftniks are the only ones that get all hot and bothered by the combine.

Scouts and coaches are there for the interviews and little else.

Yes.....Gus can not wait for the interviews.....he said he's gonna dig deep.....real deep

Would be fun to be a fly on the wall in one of his interviews.

He wants to find out if they have the "vision"

Yep......GOTTA have the juice!
So glad that Bradley is coaching here

Jacksonville higher than most on Teddy Bridgewater, A.J. McCarron, and Jimmy Garoppolo. McCarron now off their board. Bridgewater still the only QB with a first round grade on their board. Requested Garoppolo to the Senior Bowl over Savage.

Minnesota likes the mobile QBs. Big into Hundley and Mariota before they went back. Already set up a meeting with Tajh Boyd in NYC. Might be in play for Manziel if Cleveland doesn't take him?

Brett Smith has connections to both Oakland and Tampa Bay's QB coaches. Recruiting coordinator from Wyoming is now at Tampa Bay (also recruited David Fales), and Oakland's QB coach originally had Smith committed to San Jose State. Jeff Tedford was at Oregon when Brett Smith's father, Kevin, was playing football for the Ducks.

BOB might actually like Bortles, but he also touted Mallett to those around him at Penn State.

Mettenberger is an interesting prospect. It's not out yet, but Cosell really likes him.

San Diego like Wenning, who is kind of like Rivers himself.

Multiple teams DQing Fales off the board for multiple reasons. Hand size, height, arm, mobility, and character. Character not bad, but he's a "thinker" in the way he apparently treats others. Has some of the "I'm better than you" attributes. Offensive line apparently hated him. An agent who recruits SJSU told me he wouldn't touch him in October for several reasons, including what type of a guy he was.

Some think that Carr has a character red because he spends too much time with his family and not in the film room.

Great video! That gave me chills just watching him. So glad he's our coach!

Who thinks Clowney's stock will drop a little after interviewing?

I have no idea but I would love to be there for that interview. He's gonna find out what makes Clowney tick. By the end of the interview, he'll know if the guy is selfless and share's Gus's vision.

So am I, especially after watching him at the Senior Bowl.

Still, Seattle's defense didn't seem to miss him this year (but the Gators sure missed Dan Quinn).

I'd love to see it also. I'm afraid he's more interested in fame and fortune than playing football though.

What makes you say that?

The fact that he didn't want to get injured before his big payday?

You think Murray and Mettenberger aren't lamenting getting hurt?

It was a business decision.

Plain and simple.

I don' think it's so much about being selfless as it is having a true love for the game. That's what Gus looks for in guys, and it's pretty easy to sniff that out as a coach by talking to the kid. They'll know pretty quickly if he's worth consideration or not. It never looks good on a college resume to have your head coach calling you out, especially when that head coach is Spurrier, who RARELY does that type of thing.
What if GM Dave signed Greg Hardy, DE (Panthers) and Michael Bennett, DE (Seattle) to play Left & Right Ends?

The pass rush would finally be guaranteed to be good in 2014!

The left end in the base defense Gus runs is not a pass rusher. Hardy would be expensive for a Mincey-like odd fit.

Now, if we could get Ngata or Suh for our left end position... Smile (Never happen, but still)

I didn't submit the question - but find it fun that this showed up in the O-zone Live today...

[Comment From Zach]
How important is the "juice" that threaded all of our draft picks last year? For example, if Caldwell and Gus judged Clowney to not have "juice", would it be enough to pass on him?

O-Man:
"Juice," like anything in the draft process, is a part of the puzzle. But yeah, if a guy didn't seem like a Bradley/Caldwell player -- meaning an energy and a clear love of the game -- they'd probably go a different direction.
