Wrong signature. A winning season is more wins than losses.

The ONLY thing that the Jaguars can do that would cause me to stop being a fan would be to hire Fisher. I can abide practically anything. I am about as dedicated and patient as they come in most things but this would be a catastrophe I can neither abide nor condone.
Fisher becomes the Jags HC, I'm becoming a Lions fan (D6).

But the man beat an undefeated-against-every-other-team three times. Twice on the road. He outcoached Coughlin, who everyone here wants to return. So give him props.

Umm...yeah, that was the point sugar. Someone expressed confusion about whether he had 6 or 11 winning seasons, and I was trying to contribute to the thread by clarifying.
How are you trying to contribute to the thread?

LOL Because of D6?

Using that logic, if the Cowboys finish 14-2 we should hire Ben McAdoo.

My point was don't go by what Fisher did in the 1999-2000 season when determining if he is worthy of the Jaguars job. Six winning seasons in 22 years is more important than 20 games.

Quote:It will be an interesting coaching search this year for the Jags and Rams. Kroenke outmaneuvered Khan to get the Rams (thank god!). I wonder if Khan has a "beat Kroenke at all costs" mentality when it comes to something like this now.
If Khan outbids Kroenke for Jim Harbaugh then it's all worth it.

Quote:Eh, kind of a deceiving stat. He's tied for 1st and Don Shula (who is 1st in wins) is 4th and Tom Coughlin is 5th in losses.
Jeff Fisher is also 11th all time in wins.
Good post.
That's perspective/context right there.
It just goes to show you what spin can do to perception.
"Jeff Fisher has the most losses."
Yeah, okay.
Shula 4th most losses.
Coughlin 5th most losses.
They suck.
Oh wait....
*Not saying I'd want the Jgas to hire Fisher. No.*
But, this perception that he is absolutely terrible (because he has the most losses) is a falsehood. Fisher is 11th for most wins.
He's also had DREADFUL QBs a vast majority of his time with STL and LA. DREADFUL.

I know another guy who is undefeated against Coughlin and will soon be available.
Gus Bradley.

Based on Harbaugh's comments in December 2014, there is zero chance he would want the Jaguars job. He said he will only work for Michigan or the Raiders.

Fisher has had Terrible QBs for a lot of those years, especially the last few seasons in STL and LA.
-Bradford (who was young at the time and injured often)
-Foles (awful with the Rams)
-Keenum (LOL)
-Vince Young (1 good year; then LOL)
When Fisher had a very good QB (McNair) and a good QB (Kerry Collins), they had some success.

I have to stick with cat teams...surely you can respect that? The fact that I like D6 is the tiebreaker. LOL.

It kinda SEEMS to give perspective, but by trading one total (most losses) for another (11th in wins) you still leave out the real variable that effects context: coaching for 22 years. Not a lot of people have the opportunity or desire to be a head coach for 2 decades.
I just did a bit of research to try to really find context, this was the most telling stat I came out of it with:
There have been 98 coaches in NFL history with 50 or more wins. Of those 98, where does Fisher's win% fall?
72nd of 98.
And regardless I despise him so I'm biased, but I think that stat is a decent enough one to defend my opposition to him.

No.... just say no to the one-earre, mullet-headed thug Jeff Fisher. He's insulted our entire fan base with his rhetoric and is an enemy to anyone who respects the teal and black.
