The Rams going back to LA makes more sense IMO.

It has to be one of the 3 teams in California to relocate, that states economy can't support 4 teams.

The Raiders had the worst attendance this year. avg 50,444      St.Louis was next to worst at 56,957.  

 

Jax was 28th at 59,940

 

San Diego had a nice push at #22 and an avg of 64.205

St. Louis is a baseball town and the football team will always play second fiddle to the Cardinals. I have relatives in St. Louis who say you can't give tickets away to the Rams.

The Jaguars don't play second fiddle to any other professional franchises and there are times I can't give tickets away.

Nonetheless, the Jaguars are the only show in town. No matter how good the Rams are they will always be the second page of the sports section and 3rd story on the sports news.

At the very least this is leverage on the part of Stan Kroenke.  Up to now,  there hasn't been urgency on the part of the city of St. Louis and the state of Missouri in terms of coming up with a long term solution to keep the Rams in the St. Louis area.  Unless this changes in the next 12 months,  the Rams future in St. Louis is in serious jeopardy.

 

 If Kroenke attempts to negotiate in good faith and the city/ state doesn't come close to a viable plan to keep the Rams in the St. Louis area,  Kroenke could then go to the league saying that I tried to works things out in Greater St. Louis but it takes two sides to make an agreement a reality.   That would open the door for Kroenke to potentially get approval for a move from at least 3/4 the NFL owners,  which is what's required.   Of course,  the NFL is going to want a very large relocation fee,  especially if the move is to Los Angeles.  The bottom line is the Rams could be leaving St. Louis but plenty has to happen for this to occur.    My gut feeling is the Rams will end up remaining in the St. Louis area but many twists and turns probably will occur along the way until an agreement is signed.

St. Louis is probably the best baseball town on the continent.   Yet,  St. Louis also has the potential to be a good football town again.   The Rams haven't had a winning season since 2004 and haven't been to the playoffs since 2005.   The Rams broke some futility records in the last decade.   Coupling this with the uncertainty surrounding the Rams future in St. Louis, it's hard to find fault with the people that haven't been supporting the franchise.

Yep, winning will cure all ills, and Cronke will get his money, he just has to do some arm twisting and use L.A. as leverage.

Ultimately,  money likely will be the determining factor if the Rams remain in the St. Louis area.   But if everything is even close to being equal, it's hard to envision Stan Kroenke wanting to move the Rams out of the St. Louis area. Kroenke was born in Columbia, MO. and was named after two of the great players in St. Louis Cardinals and MLB history:  Stan Musial and Enos Slaughter.  

I don't like Stan Kroenke and the negotiations are contentious at best in STL.  From my 5 years living in Misery, I've adopted the Cardinals and the Blues.  I had a lot of fun following the Cardinals when I worked downtown.  I was 2 blocks from Scott Trade so I got to go to hockey games as well.  With the casino caddy corner to the convention center, the football stadium is in an odd spot.  The city will have to break the tax payers backs to fund what Kroenke desires.

 

They still saying the Jaguars will be in STL after losing the Rams?  That seemed to be the prevailing thought when I was still there.
