No he wouldn't have. Geno is bad, and so were the Jags this past year. This team was not one player away from a playoff team.

If Geno were good enough to put us in the playoffs, then he would have had to have been good enough to win the AFC title with the Jets.

jets oline is much better, their run game is much better, and without Blackmon our WR core is a little better. I dont think we would of won 4 games with Geno. Monroe would leave this year and we would still need a qb and lt

Idk I have seen a couple jets games this year and they have look atrocious all around in the passing game. Ace Sanders would be a wr1 for them. 

 

Granted though, Geno made some hideous reads. His throwing isn't even too much of the problem, its his inability to comprehend what is going is happening on the field.

 

Its what happen when you play the raid in college.

 

Its why I have deep deep doubts about Manziel

This is the same guy that had us taking Geno last year in the draft with the 2nd overall pick in the April mock he did and was praising Geno's game.  He also has Det.taking a mid round center prospect Tyler Larsen with the 10th overall pick when they could take Mike Evans or Marqise Lee in the 1st and get Larsen in the 3rd or 4th or maybe the best center prospect in the 2nd in his 2014 mock draft lol.  Teddy as clean as a prospect as Luck, lol. Geno is not a bad quarterback and he definitely wasn't a bad prospect from a physical perspective. Whether he can put it together in the future is entirely on him and the staff limiting the distractions  so common with the Jets.

Like who, some talking heads on the internet?  I seriously doubt Dave ever thought about taking Geno in the 1st or 2nd round.

We don't know which teams had him that high before he was publicly attacking reporters that criticized his game. Maybe some, maybe none at all.

 

But since talking heads are all we have to go off of, yes, some talking heads on the internet.

He sees phantom pass rushers and cant see Shorts when he is wide open is a part of the problem

Did any of you watch Geno at all? He showed improvement toward the end of the season. He had no running game, no reliable TE, and a mess at WR. Yet the Jets still went 8-8. Geno is going to be fine.


Also EmDiggy I said Bortles because I was shocked you had him so low. Im personally not a big fan. I also think Bridgewater is as good as Luck from the sense of pocket presence, command of the offense, accuracy, and intelligence. He just isnt quite as big. That's all.

Yes I watched him and he is not that good.  I dont think he will ever be a franchise QB.  No running game?  They were 6th in the league.  What does he need top 3 running game?  I know you were all pro Geno last year, now Bridgewater.  Same song different dance. 

Yeah, put me in the not impressed by Geno camp.  I'm aware his receivers are the worst in the league, but he had a decent O-line and a good running game.  Much like evaluating Gabbert in the past, you don't really need to see a ton more to know that he's probably not going to amount to a good QB.  He never really ran away with the job, it's just he kind of won it by default because Sanchez sucks and got hurt.

Geno has to show me alot more than what he did this year.

They would have been contending for a playoff spot but the Brows don't have the Jets D

 

Geno can't throw a receiver worth his life. Bridgewater would make those receivers better than they actually are

 

When it comes to poor receivers, you have to be a anticipation thrower, that would have helped the jets big time this year
