Why trade down knowing the first two teams after us need a quarterback? Even if we trade with the #6 Falcons, all of the best three quarterbacks will be gone before we pick.

Because these 3 QB's are not that much better than the next 3. This years QB class is very similar to the 2011 draft that had Cam, Locker, Ponder and our boy Gabbert.

I dont know maybe Dave will trade up to secure Clowney?

If that is true, why do we only talk about three quarterbacks being worthy of first round picks?

I think Teddy is. His accuracy, pocket presence, intelligence, and knowledge of the pro game is elite. RG3 was all flash and glitz. You know it. I know it. Everyone knows it. Look what happened when RG3 couldn't use his legs. 

If Johnny isn't there @3 we should go Clowney and pick up Carr in the 2nd.  Sure he is as skittish as Blaine sometimes but he is a boss when he doesn't face heavy pressure and gets rid of the ball quick enough  to avoid pressure.  He is worth a gamble with our 2nd rounder.

Unless he has a bad combine, Carr wont be there in the 2nd

Two things

 

1. Johnny will be there at the 3rd (i bet 50 bucks we don't him though) most teams probably wont

2. Why do you want a qb with Blaine Gabberts pocket presence when pressured???

 

Any qb can make the throws when you don't have 300 lb linemen in your face, its what you do when they are coming that matters

I don't see any QB's going 1st round except for JFF, Teddy, and Bortles.  Alot of mocks on NFL Network and Bleacher Report have him going 2nd round right now.  Most scouts have a 2nd round grade on him.

 

Carr has elite arm talent that can't be coached.  He isn't as bad as perceived under pressure.  You can see on his highlights he is able to climb the pocket or throw from a muddied pocket.  Most passing plays calls for quick throws anyways so he only has to worry about pressure on 3rd and longs most likely.

That's a great point.  Griffin was 100% legit.  His injuries were devastating, playing him hurt and the rush back were inexcusable.  Probably permanently lost something from his game.

Griffin was never that good, he was in the air raid offense of Art Briles, not much was required mentally from the qb position. 

 

The throws weren't that difficult either

Sounds a lot like a Cam Newton assessment.

 

There was no gimmick.  He could no longer physically make the plays he was making, and his coach was doing him no favors (the one that put him out there to get killed to begin with.)

Cam Newton also had:

 

1. Better pocket presence

2. Bigger build

3. Stronger Arm

4. More athletic p4p

 

I will agree with you coaching hurt him a lot. The injury set him back as well. However the only thing Rg3 had coming was physical tools
