They probably haven't made a choice yet. I think they go with Anthony Barr tho. I know i'ma get blasted for this but I've been spot on with my mocks since 2011.

You can't tell the difference and you're way over thinking this.  No one really knows who anyone else wants, though a GM may anticipate certain picks and trades based on an individual team's needs.  There's no real secret, it's all common knowledge throughout the league and everyone knows the strengths and weakness of other teams.  It's primarily a question of evaluating talent and character traits, with a little bit of a poker game on the side.   Like any other job, some guys are just better at it than others.

If I am way overthinking this, Gene Smith was way overthinking when he realized the Rams also wanted Justin Blackmon. Yes, they did say they wanted him before the draft. That is why he traded up.

No one has accused Gene Smith of being a brilliant strategist or judge of talent.  Many here would say just the opposite.  If the Rams did "say" they wanted Blackmon, that doesn't make it true.

I jump on the people who act like their speculations are facts. If everyone said, "I think this will happen," or "This is what I expect," they could save a little fire from me.

For everyone who thinks nobody ever knows who they want four months before the draft or gives away their intentions, let's go back two years.

 

At this time in 2012, the Colts had already decided they want to pick Andrew Luck #1 overall and said so publicly.

 

A few months later, the Redskins, who had the #6 pick, said they want to trade with the Rams for Robert Griffin.

 

Fast forward to late April: Luck goes first to the Colts and Griffin goes second to the Redskins.

 

Now tell me why I should not believe anything teams say about the draft before it begins. Those two quarterbacks are proof some teams never lie.

"Best prospect" is not just about talent. It is about the whole package, including football IQ, work ethic, etc. What happens between the ears matters just as much as all physical gifts. So Clowney is not the best prospect because he has character issues. Also, just because BAP is different for every team does not mean every team picks the BAP.

Because no draft has ever been as clear as that one. Luck was the higest rated QB to ever come out of college (Peyton and Elway might be tied with him). Then you have the Redskins who clearly traded up for RG3.

 

No one... and i mean no one is close to knowing what will happen in this draft because there is not a single prospect as close to them as possible. Thats why people are saying these are smoke screens.

I did not say believe everything you hear is true. Believe some statements but not others. At this point, there is no reason not to believe the Browns are telling the truth Manziel or trading up for a quarterback, but the part about wanting a coach who likes Manziel is obviously a lie.

Yep.  IIRC, the debate was between the "star" Reggie Bush and the local kid Young.

 

I can remember laying in bed, sick as a dog when the news broke late that night the Texans were negotiating with Mario.

 

It surprised me at first (because I thought they were set on one of those two), but thinking about it - it didn't take long to realize it made all the sense in the world.

My favorite team is and always will be the Jacksonville Jaguars. And I am allowed to believe what the Browns say until you can prove the Colts lied about Andrew Luck.
