CB Walt Aikens, LIBERTY
Walt Aikens is probably the most athletic corner back in the entire 2014 NFL Draft. The former NCAA standout point guard from Illinois University can jump out the gym. He has won dunk contests, and tore it up on the football field.

Quote:Joyner will play safety I think. Bigger corners are the trend which allows smaller safeties leeway to cover. Mayock or someone at the Senior Bowl practice said it best; with bigger corners in demand and the run game less of a factors, it allows safeties to be smaller and focus more on covering slot guys.
As for my gem, I'll go with La'darius Perkins, RB from Miss State.
Is the size difference really that important? If some guys can play both cornerback and safety, I don't think so. Speed is what really matters.

speed isn't what really matters...perfect example is Richard Sherman. Runs a 4.5, 4.6. The fastest corner in the league sometimes cant cover a Welker or an Edelman. Quickness and acceleration are something I would put above speed. Speed is important but not what matters most.
I looked up Adham Talaat again. What I said earlier was out of date: he played on the offensive line in high school, but is a defensive end at Galludet. The school website says he is 6-6, 275 but some other websites claim he is 285 so he either gained or lost 10 pounds. His official 40 time is 4.85 but he usually runs slower than that. Twenty NFL teams went to Galludet already to see him and he is one of the best Division 3 players. My impression is he deserves a chance somewhere even if he is not drafted.
I know Wisconsin's players best, and I think they're the only prospects I'm even remotely qualified to comment on.
I think Chris Borland will be a bit more above the radar than he is now by the time the draft rolls around, and I think I'd really enjoy watching Jared Abbrederis as a Jaguar if he's taken late.

Well I remember a lot of people were saying Malcom Jenkins will be a safety in the NFL because he was too slow to be a cornerback.

Jared Abbrederis looked good against the Buckeyes, but that was the only time I saw him play. Does he look like someone who can be an upgrade from Mike Brown or Kerry Taylor?

Isn't Abbrederis like 30?
I kid, I kid.

I think he has the potential to be an upgrade. Wisconsin wasn't strong at QB this season and Abbrederis was the only true WR threat, and he still managed to do a ton of damage. I love his upside.

Feels like he's been at Wisconsin since 1996.
I like Jeff Janis, Antonio Andrews, and Cody Latimer as my favorite possible hidden gems. Other names to throw out as either late round or UDFA hidden gems,
L'Damian Washington WR, 6'4" 196
Kapri Bibbs RB 5'10" 205
Demarcus Lawrence OLB/DE 6'3" 248
Crocket Gilmore TE 6'6" 255
Yeah, not quite hidden, but they are buried deep in their respective position rankings on various nfl draft websites for one reason or another. All relatively productive with prototypical size. Could be drafted as high as 3rd, or go undrafted.
The name L'Damian always makes me think of a former Chargers running back, even though it is not exactly the same.
Hal Jordan DE 7'4 356lb 3.91 40-time FSCJ.
Jordan Najvar TE from Baylor
I honestly don't know how much of a hidden gem he is but I haven't seen much talk of him on here.

Gillmore and Bibbs are very much on my list for possible mid-to-late round potential impact players. I think Gillmore may be on many draft boards after the senior bowl, though. I've seen him in the top ten TE prospects at most websites lately. (projected between 3rd and 5th rounds)

Maybe one of our fourth round picks? I don't know if I want a tight end in the third, but would not be mad if we get one on Day 3.

Yes. I'd love to see Gillmore taken with the Jags second pick in the fourth. (Bibbs in the sixth or seventh)

That might depend on our pick number in the fourth. There is a five-spot difference hanging on the coin flip.

I wholeheartedly agree.
