Joeckel keeps our new QB upright and Blackmon gives our new QB a legitimate #1.
It makes Chad Henne a 3 TD QB.

I think the O-line improves, and I think the receivers improve. Simple.

Quote:Joeckle: He had to face some elite nfl pass rushers in his first few games. He was also learning to play RT at the time. He handled himself very well under the circumstances. Joeckle was improving every week and actually looked good his last few weeks. In his short showing at LT he looked natural and was shutting his man down. Joeckle commented he is going to take the time off to improve his upper body strength. When Joeckle is back on the line and healthy he is going to make a dramatic change. Having a LT the QB can trust to block his blindside will give a QB confidence.
Blackmon: This guy is an enigma. Blackmon has shown he has the talent to become a superstar in this league. If Blackmon gets a reliable QB he will be a force in this league. He has shown he has the tools on the field to be a gamebreaker. Run away speed, power to run through tacklers, shiftyness, soft hands, and just dominance are traits you just can't teach. Having Blackmon back will have a dramatic change in the offense. Cecil shorts is a good McCardell type receiver. Shorts is a good #2 but needs a #1 to improve his game. Blackmon gives us that #1 receiver. The main issue is his drug problem. Alcohol, Weed, powder, whatever it is has taken a big hold on his life. I fear one more strike and his NFL career is over.
Joeckel is a piece of the puzzle. Obviously, the Jaguars were first looking for better protection on the left side when they traded away Monroe for multiple draft picks. Nobody could have predicted that Luke would be cut down from behind and lost so soon after earning the left tackle job - in-season.
There's always hope that the Jaguars understand elite value with the third pick. It may very well be that Jake Matthews is available when we pick in round one. Guards and center are equally important, but to not see the chance to create the tandem of Joeckel and Matthews is unimaginable.
I think Justin Blackmon's career is over with a third strike.

Don't think this would work because we would have to much inexperience on offence especially with expected new QB as wellI.It could damage the whole franchise confidence before the offence gel to show their true quality. But I do agree along with Clowney and Watkins,Matthews is a top 3 pick

Well that didn't work

Well, both of them are going to be very vital to our team's success. That's obvious. Joeckle's rookie season was cut short. I don't really know what's going to unfold over there at LT for him yet. Especially when you consider just how inexperienced this offensive line is in general. We're already in the mix and search now for a Center since Meester had to hang it up. That's the most important thing we need to get undercontrol first. We need to get our starting five down on paper and out on the field as soon as possible once the season starts. This constant injury bug that's been around those positions over the last few years is very annoying as a fan. And it's the most important unit that needs to be in sync on Sundays.
Blackmon, when he's on the field, he's a playmaker. It's as simple as that. He's impressed in the short passing game, the mid passing game, and the deep passing game. He has tremendous hands and even better YAC ability. But if he messes up just one more time off the field, he's done. He's another Matt Jones, Reggie Williams, & R.J Soward to this franchise. And that'll be the end of that. And personally, I don't think the kid gets it, and I don't think he'll ever get it. I think he's going to mess up once again, and his potential goes down the drain. I hope he proves me wrong. But so far he's only been able to provide his family, his teammates, and this fanbase two to three reasons to simply not trust him. He can't be. And that's a shame when you consider what's on the line here.

Joeckle has the foundation to be great. Only injury can set him back. Worst case scenario, he can move to RT.
Blackmon has the skill-set and raw talent to be a star immediately. Unfortunately for us and himself, he is a mistake away from blowing it all. He really personifies the failure at WR in Jacksonville's poor luck historically with the position. Aside from his self implosion, I don't think the Jags have ever drafted such a raw talent at the WR position as J.B.- His abilities Change everything.
For our sake I hope they both work out..

Is Joeckle related to Joeckel?

Quote:I don't mean to be a downer but I have a bad feeling about Joeckel.. he was terrible at RT and for some reason I don't think him swapping sides is gonna make a big difference.. hope i'm wrong tho.
Define terrible as it relates to his performance at RT last year for 4 games.

Joekel will hopefully be a staple at LT while Blackmon could be a pro bowl caliber WR if his head is on straight.
