Clowney

Barr

One of these guys will be in teal next year. And everyone should just be happy we have a great chance to pick an elite player.

Manziel*

I'm not a fan at 3, but if we take him I would love to be wrong.

I would like to believe that we'd all go with that sentiment. Each of us probably has a favorite, but once they're drafted I know we all want them to be the guy.

It is a now or never pick for getting a quarterback whether he is Bridgewater, Manziel, or Bortles. The next two teams are the Browns and Raiders, who are in the same quarterback situation, so we do not have any chance of picking one of those three if we trade down. Sorry, but that is just the way it is.

I don't have a favorite. If you combine Johnny's mobility, Blake's size, and Teddy's pocket passing, you have the ideal quarterback. Which one has the most desirable traits?

Quote:Some people crack me up on this board...are people really advocating we take a guy in the 3rd and 5th and see who is better (or sucks less)...I also find it funny that people who are talking about waiting and taking a QB later are also some of the first people to whine about our current situation. News flash...we have 5th round talented QBs already on the roster.

You can't keep ignoring or doing a very sub par job of addressing (and that is what taking guys later and hoping is) the most important position in sports...If we don't draft a guy then Caldwell needs to make a move to get an actual proven QB in here who can be our guy...if he doesn't he is out of a job in less than 2 years...not because he didn't draft a guy but because our record under him will be abysmal and I can see Khan moving on.

The guys we have here are nothing short of hot garbage...and that may be insulting hot garbage. We have to address the spot...if we take a guy this year at 3 and have a shot at Winston next year...guess what...we can draft him too...We are not winning a SB without a QB...no matter if draft Clowney and he is next coming of Reggie White...it will not matter.
This is the same rhetoric spewed last time around and we ended up with Blaine Gabbert. Patience is virtue.

None of the top3 QBs warrant a top10 selection, so get ready for Clowney, Matthews, Mack or Barr.

How is Teddy not worth being a top 10 pick? Everyone is calling him a top five pick except a few team scouts. Somebody is going to pick him in the top five because only the Rams don't need a QB.

Do you really think he has a legitimate reason?

What are you talking about? I just told you everything you need to know.

You were questioning Jag4lyfe reasoning on why Bridgewater was no worth a top 10 pick...

I replied saying he had no legitimate reason...
Jag4Lyfe...I see what you are saying...but you can't sit on your hands and claim patience forever...eventually have to pull the trigger...and then be able to evaluate correctly...even if it is just one year...some people (not saying you) seem to think if we draft a guy at 3 this year there is some law that says we can't take a QB in the first round next year.

I would be fine with some of the guys you named...but we have to have a plan for the QB and that plan cannot be to go into next year with Gabbert and Henne as our options, IMO.

And as I stated if there is no upgrade to QB this year and we wait until next year...Caldwell's seat will get very hot...You add Clowney in the first round we are still a 4 win team if that next year...a few years of winning 4 or 5 games and I see Khan quickly moving on from Caldwell...I just don't see Khan having the same blind devotion to the GM and coach that WW had in the past...
