I had never heard of this game. It should be interesting to watch for everyone who cares.

The practices are on ESPNU today (1-15-14) and tomorrow. It appears they will be re-aired. Check the cable schedule.

This is the 3rd annual of what I call the Melancholia Bowl. The last chance for many of these players. The majority are playing their last organized football game. Some are/may be NFL Combine invitees. Some will become camp roster players. A doubt that more than a small number with see playing time in an NFL regular-season game.

The East-West Shrine game and the Senior Bowl will both feature better talent and more recognizable names.

The East-West game will over-lap the Collegiate Bowl. I DVR the latter and watch out of respect hoping to see somebody do something positive enough to spark pro scout interest.

Did you catch the practice for today (Thursday)? The cream is rising to the top!

According to all of the scouting experts, including six-time NFL executive of the year, Bill Polian, Trey Watts clearly has talent that popped right out at them. It was apparent on day one that Trey Watts caught the attention of the scouts. Thursday's practice coverage on ESPNU featured an extended discussion of Trey which included every single member of ESPN's on-air crew. They all agreed that he can play NFL football!

First impressions are usually lasting ones. When I watched Tulsa last year, I saw right away that Trey Watts was extremely talented and once NFL scouting experts got a look at him they would see his immense pro potential.

I knew it. I knew it. I knew it. (I feel like a proud papa)

Trey Watts started off on the wrong foot. A fumble on his first carry.

He rebounded to gain 100 all-purpose yards in a game he split time with other prospects. Finding a away to collect 100 yards is pretty good stuff.
