Quote:I think if you use that pick and miss, it doesn't really matter who you took; you missed and it hurts just as badly for the team.

I agree. Whoever they pick at 3 (or via trade)....they HAVE to land a star player.

The 1st round and 2nd round picks both have to hit for us to really improve next year I think. One of them has to be a QB who can come in and be better than what we had this past year. Having the 3rd pick this year is so crazy because no one has any clue what's going to happen with the first 2 picks.
Quote:The Texans are not going with Keenum as a full time starter next year unless injury to whatever QB the main guy is. Keenum is horrible.
maybe they wanna tank for Winston?

After watching the NC game, I hope they do.
Quote:Gullible, if you believe that crap. You watched Keenum this year.....he stinks. You know it, we know it, O Brien knows it. He's not going to be the full time starter for them next year.
If Keenum was waived today, there would be several claims on him. He stunk this year, but he's still 25 years old with decent mobility, a decent arm and starting experience. There are enough intriguing qualities there for a team to try and develop him. But, yeah, let's all keep hoping that he starts in Houston. That'd be cool.
Keenum has shown my nothing to prove he's any better than a QB you can get on day 3 in the draft, we all saw the difference when he left the games against the Jags and Schaub came in. Schaub is 2x the QB Keenum is. The Texans have a chance to seriously upgrade the most important position on it's team, I'd be very surprised if they don't.

If they do pass on Bridgewater, they're also handing the Jags either him or Manziel on a plate.

....for that matter, most of that could be said about Gabbert. Both stink.

Are you forgetting theres a draft pick at 2? The Jags could easily miss out on both Bridge and Manziel.
Quote:I'm torn on Manziel. Like I said, his deep sideline throws are so pretty, and often he hits his WR in stride. With even stats backing up how accurate he is on 20+ throws, its hard to say its just pure luck. As far as "fixing" him, do you want to? Part of the intrigue in drafting Manziel is the magic that he brings to the table. To ask him to curtail that would make him more ordinary. I think if you take him, you take him for who he is.

You fix a bit of his footwork, teach him pro-style offense and reading coverages, but you don't chain him to the pocket.

You'd live and die with his play style.

1000 % agree.

He's are guy. I hope we target him.

If they don't pick Bridgewater or Manziel then we're either gonna get him or Manziel.

This x a million
More interested in who caldwell's guy is than an expendable coordinator.
Dave isn't passing on Clowney for a massive risk to the franchise and his career. Sorry. Move on and pick a second round guy that you like.

i think your wrong

caldwell said in his interview two pieces head coach and quarterback... he said he has his head coach

if there is a guy he believes in at 3 i think he will pick him regardless of clowney

if there isn't a guy well then picking clowney depends on the love football philosophy. If he doesn't fit bradley's mantra i don't think they will sign him.

I don't think they will sell that philosophy out for clowney who was on a down year last year especially when you have very good players like mack, barr, watkins and trade value with at least two of manziel bortles bridgewater and clowney ( regardless of what they think of him) on the board.
