Yea that is crazy. The amount of damage, loss of life, and complete lack of care for any of it deserves 120 years, not days.
Luckily the mother's being charged for aiding and abetting and she could actually receive more jail time than her son. He's a little punk but she's just as much to blame in this situation. I wonder how she'd feel if some other kid was driving drunk and killed one of her family members.

He was a juvenile when he committed the initial crime, hence the lightweight sentence, and violating probation isn't exactly a capital offense. Sentencing guidelines.
