Duke's defense sucks.

Pitt scored 58 vs Duke.

.

Yea and whats your excuse for what Manziel did to Bama the last two years?

it's the darndest thing

you could call duke the exception but mike evans had hands all over him all night and go a fair few pi calls and still caught 4 for 72 yards

now i'm not saying manziel doesn't factor in and doesn't make the throws etc but having some top wide receivers catching balls is definitely helping.

He might be clutch and put up numbers against top defenses but he is also on a top offense so that argument doesn't really fly with me

Yea man your right, Manziel needs evans.  Thats why Manziel played horrible last year when Evans wasnt even his go to WR.  Manziel made evans, not the other way around.
Nope I'm saying Manziel has always had a stellar cast around him

that helps against top end defenses but he might not have that in the NFL especially if he comes here where he could end up behind a very very young line in front of a very young RB and with a depleted receiver cadre to throw too
Would you rather him play lights out against a bad D or terrible against a bad D?
Manziel definitely does NOT have a stellar team around him. He has a left tackle and a wideout. That's it. Everything else, including his defense, is hot garbage on their bet days.

Agreed

I'm just fed up of people using the bama game like a testament to him translating to the NFL

Added his 2 picks are hardly lights out

My issue is that we are not a team that can afford to nurture its pick and edge it gently into the fold

Whoever it is will be thrown to the wolves

Added this is not a pick we can afford to miss on

to me Manziel is the least pro ready QB who if you remove that freakish athleticism has very little experience as a pocket passer and does not possess a stellar arm

Be that through defensive scheme injury NFL defenses are already well up on the read option and if they take away the read I think he will struggle

Hence I would rather take someone with a lower ceiling so to speak that is more pro ready

My comment was in reference to the original poster and the Duke defense.

His other tackle, Cedric Ogbuehi, could be a first round pick too.
