With the firing of Mike Shanahan from Washington does that allow the JAGS coaching staff coach the senior bowl??

Im pretty sure it does which would give Dave and Gus good looks at the upcoming college talent.

I'm not too sure but that'd be pretty cool

It will be St Louis' pick not Washington's, so probably not.

The teams with the two worst records with remaining coaches in place will be who coaches the senior bowl or at least offered.  Since Houston does not have a coach and now Washington does not, It falls to the Jags and with the Browns and Bucs coaches being fired most likely will be Atlanta with the Jags Coaching.

Wouldn't that be cool to have the new Jags coaching staff there with good ol' Mike Smith? All Jville and former Jville in Mobile Smile.

More interested in the Caldwell Dimitroff connection.

Have to wait and see on OAK. ATL would be next.

<p class="" style="color:rgb(51,51,51);font-family:Arial, sans-serif;">That’s not an official announcement, but expect the <a class="" href='https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Jaguars&src=hash'>#Jaguars</a> to be one of the Senior Bowl coaching staffs.

Has never been that big of a deal to me.  All the coaches are there anyways.

I can't get over how funny that sounds. The coaching staff of the worst teams in the league coaching up and coming future NFL players.

You realize Oakland got the #4 pick, right? And Dennis Allen will not be fired. So the Raiders would do it if the RG3 trade is irrelevant.

Actually it makes sense because the worst teams will get the best players if they did not trade their first round picks and have the most holes to fill.

I would think the coaching staff will have the best access to the players on their roster. In a year where this team needs to nail it with the draft, that kind of access could prove invaluable.

So it is good for us both Kubiak and Shanahan are unemployed.

That's true.

Or at least have a better feel of certain players they may or may not have on their radar as to how their ethics are first hand. Plus plenty of other things from being there personally. Good way to find a diamond in the rough possibly.
One more question: How do they decide if we coach the East or West team?

what happens now that the texans have hired a coach? Is it like last year were we had the option but declined in order to get the house in order more completely?

If you fire a head coach, you lose the chance to coach the senior bowl. Since The Texans and Redskins both did, the Jaguars have the chance to. Gus and staff will more than likely do it.

Who said we had the option and we declined? Everyone knew it was only a matter of time before Mike Mularkey got kicked out of Jacksonville and most assistants left for other jobs before he was fired so no, we were not invited to coach at the Senior Bowl.
