BG is still under contract Gauranteed , so if they cut him they still will have to pay him. Why wouldnt you keep someoon you already have to pay? Caldwell said sitting him has helped him learn. I think they keep him and see how much he learned.

Why? Because Gabbert helped make the Jaguars the laughing stock of the NFL. I'd gladly pay him to sit at home or to help ruin a different team.
I have never disliked a player as much as him. Good riddance.

and exactly how did he do that. he played 2 3/4 games this year and 2 of those games were against divison winning playoff teams. henne on the other hand played the rest of the games and the majority of the games when the jags were considered laughing stocks. try using facts instead of drunken conjecture to give your opinion on BG.
Quote:Lol no one is giving up anything for Blaine.
And you know this how?
It's not unheard of to think some GM will want to see what they can do with a former first round pick. It's not like other teams didn't think of him as a first rounder.
And I'm sure there are a few GMs who wonder if Gabbert is just another example of a player who needs a change of scenery. They have little to lose and might pick up some extra depth for their roster.
Trade him for Chase Daniel!
Why give up anything in trade when you can just pick him up after he's cut?

Why would the Jaguars cut him if they think they can get a pick for him? He's still under contract.

Your conclusion is based on a false premise......no one is giving anything for him.

You talk to the other GMs on a regular basis, do you?

That's quite disturbing.
Trade him for a ham sandwich, anything if you can even if it's a conditional pick. Either way, it's time to move on and give him a chance somewhere else if he can find it. He's still young, and would seem to have the tools that teams would want in a backup QB. The Steelers gave up a seventh round pick to Tampa to acquire Leftwich as a backup, so it's not a stretch at all to think it could happen. There have been some pretty sorry backup QBs who were dealt because someone is willing to roll the dice because of desperation at the position. Kelly Holcomb was traded
twice.

Do you think Gabbert would still be here if anyone had offered anything for him yet? Is there a high demand for quarterbacks who drop to the ground rolled up in the fetal position as soon as a DE crosses the line of scrimmage?
A 4-11 team with a weak starting QB, going to 4-12 in a blow-out game and he still didn't make it in....do you think the other GM's can't figure that out?
Wouldn't it be ironic if the tinhorns got him.
Then drafted Clowney.
And Gabbert panned out to be what we thought he could be.
and the titans traded with the Rams... to get Bridgewater....
LOL!
