Looking at the Florida State roster, I see the Kelvin Benjamin is a red-shirt sophomore. That means he can declare.

Automatic number one pick at wide receiver?
It sounds like he is declaring, and I have him in the 3-5 range at WR because he has average hands and this is a monster WR class. He's clearly behind Watkins and Evans, and for me he is behind Adams and Lee too for now.

If he was more consistent he would be a top 15 pick. He still has issues with drops and blocking. I think another year at FSU would benefit him but he's already 22 or 23 I believe.

It is a pretty good WR class isn't it?...

I'd be disappointed if the Jags don't land themselves a good one from it. I don't think they should go into next season puttiing all their eggs in the Blackmon and Shorts basket. Shorts hasn't been able to finish the past two seasons b/c of injury and as much as I love the talent of Blackmon, his issues are obvious.

It's amazingly good. Like approaching all time good from top to bottom. Very good WRs like Abbrederis, Parker, Kasen Williams, Brandin Cooks, etc are all outside the top 10 WR and would be top 5 or so in most classes. Gonna be a bunch of  day 3 megasteals IMO.

As said....I hope we get one...

Would be foolish to merely sit on what we got given the points I raised about Shorts & Blackmon.

It doesn't really matter what position the player plays. Just take the best football player available. We need football players period.

Third to fifth round?

Kelvin is a big-play number one NFL wide receiver. If you look at the video, it's unfair. He absolutely cut a dominant figure against opposing secondaries. Any team that drafts Benjamin is going to immediately have a superb deep passing game.

Kelvin should easily become the number one WR prospect in this draft. If not a top two or three over-all.

The only way Benjamin slips to the 3-5 rounds is if there are character issues we find out about. There aren't many 6'5 240 lb receivers that run like a deer in the NFL.
I think his inconsistency early on will make him late first early second rounder if he comes out. If he can put his age behind him and come back for another year with Winston this kid could be a top 10 no doubt! Absolute freak of nature but I do think he will come out this year Sad makes me sad as a noles fan as well
Another thing that will help his draft stock this year is if he balls out in the ship and he will destroy the combine
Benjamin will be a top 15 pick. Guy is just way too talented.
Benjamin is a freak, but he does lack the elite speed to be a top 10 WR, IMO.

I would still love to have him obviously...

To me, Sammy Watkins is the guy to get.  I wouldn't be mad at all in trading down if we can't get Clowney or Bridgewater and drafting Sammy Watkins.

He'd be q great redzone Target but he just doesn't have the consistent hand I would want in a wr drafted in the first round and he also doesn't have elite speed.

Look out for Victor Dean out of Portland State he is 6'6 215. A little light but he is a good project at WR especially in the 7th/udfa

Could he play TE? Just a thought. Might create mis-matches there.
We started guys like Kerry Taylor, Stephen Burton, and Jeremy Ebert this year. I don't see us not drafting a receiver.

Maybe. Don't ask him to block though. He gives half *** effort when blocking still. I'm sure an NFL receiver/tight end coach would change that quickly.
He would be a nice addition. I don't think we would pull the trigger before the 3rd round though.

I'm not worried much about his blocking, more curious if he could be effective as a pass catcher/ playmaker from the position. Shannon Sharpe wasn't all that great of a blocker from the position I'd imagine...yet he and his teams did well.

No, seemed pretty clear I said that I think he is the 3rd to 5th best WR in this class. After the top tier of Sammy and Evans, and in the tier with Lee and Adams.

Should go mid 1st to early 2nd round.
