The Rams are not going with a pass rusher, Robert Quinn has 18 sacks and Chris Long is a stud, they will go LT Jake Matthews most likely, or if they decided to give up on Bradford they will go QB

Houston is a crap shoot at this point, need to see who they hire as coach and if Bud Adams insist they dont wanna rebuild, they do still have a good defense.

i dont thin that they're going to give up on a qb who they just made a new deal with in the off season.
Why would the chiefs take a QB?

Just saw that Jake Long tore his ACL/MCL. This late in the season, doubt he'll be ready for next season. Hopefully they have concern enough that they take Matthews even though they already have Long and Saffold.

I believe the Rams will take Teddy Bridgewater (if the Texans don't and/or Teddy doesn't stay in school) or Jake Matthews.

Bridgewater did NOT have a fantastic season. He didn't really progress above what he already is. This second level college stuff usually translates to a potentially horrible pro career.

The Rams will dangle that pick in front of everyone's noses. If nobody trades up they with go with Mathews. These mock drafts that have them taking Clowney, Barr, or Mack are clearly not thought out and misinformed..... smh
Just like Ben R., Joe F., and Colin K. worked out horribly....

The Rams are in a position to take the BAP, and I believe that will be Mack. Jake Long was playing really good football prior to his injury, so a LT won't make sense if they think he'll come back healthy. I don't see them taking a QB or WR either.
I love how people assume the Rams will just trade their pick - as if they don't think premier players or pass rushers or tackles are valuable.  If I were the Rams, I would stay at #2 and pick Bridgewater or Clowney

Agreed completely with the first paragraph.

On major correction though:  Bud Adams was the owner of the Houston Oilers/stinkin' tacks.  He died earlier this year.  The Texans' owner is Bob McNair.

Jake Long tore his ACL.

Long was arguably past his prime when he got to the Rams before tearing his ACL.

That is a long rehab process, and he may not be ready to play when the season rolls around.  Boselli had a similarly timed injury back in 1999, and he wasn't quite the same until midseason.

It would make far more sense for the Rams to take a tackle at 2 or trade down to get the tackle.

But where would you play Clowney in St. Louis?  For that matter, they like Bradford.  Why take Bridgewater?  They need a LT so they can operate with some semblance of competency on offense in a division featuring some absolutely awesome defenses in Seattle, San Francisco and Arizona.

Were I a Rams fan, I'd be thrilled with a Jake Matthews/Sammy Watkins first round draft combo.

and Terry Bradshaw, Steve McNair, Kurt Warner, Brett Favre and Roger Staubach
Rams and Matthews makes almost too much since. Even if Long comes back healthy, he is past his prime and struggling. Rams can can Matthews with their first then the next first can be used to upgrade either the WR corps or secondary. They are in a great position. Bradford has never been protected. With a rebuffed line he may have a spectacular 7'14 season.

Because I think Clowney is a potential perennial all-pro.  I know they currently don't need a pass rusher, but I just wouldn't pass up a guy like that.  Why would I let someone else get him?  Maybe because I don't think Matthews is that much of a can't miss prospect..

Also, as for Bradford..  I'm just not that impressed with him.  I guess I never was.  Even against the Jags - when he had like 3 TDs and 0 picks, I thought he wasn't all that.

At this point this is not what they are worried about they have TWO young DE's with a double digit sack total. Clowney hasn't proven anything in the pros yet and has red flags (motivation, although I do think that would be different in the NFL). Quinn and Long have proven success at the NFL level, so the Rams would be likely to trade down even if its only a few spots. Mathews is the best for for the rams right now at a high pick.

Your credibility is worthless.  Bud Adams is dead.  Bob McNair is the owner of the Texans.

Really?

Sorry, SuperJville..but for some reason my quote feature doesn't work when I am at my home computer.

Please bear with me, but you didn't answer my question.

Where would you play Clowney in St. Louis?

Whether you played him at RDE or LDE, you would end up playing him over a young DE who is capable of putting up double digit sacks.  Quinn has 18 sacks now and Long has had 32.5 sacks over the last three seasons.  If you set him up in a rotation where he's coming off the bench, you will limit his ability to become a pro bowl player and minimize his impact early on.

Meanwhile, you haven't helped the O-Line at all.

Jake Long has had numerous injury issues, including his current ACL injury which effects will likely linger into the first part of next year.  RT Saffold is a free agent after this season.

You need a balanced team to win.

Now I might be open to the argument that this is a deep T draft class and that a good pass blocking LT will be available with the second of the Rams two first round picks.

But given what they face in their division from other defenses, it makes more sense to draft a tackle who plays every down, can shut down opposing pass rushers like Aldon Smith and Bruce Irvin, and get a WR that will enable Austin to work from the slot than it does to draft a DE where you are already loaded at the position and neglect positions of dire need elsewhere.
If the Rams stay at #2 they will be taking Jake Matthews, unless of course they pull a KC and fall in love with an inferior prospect and take Lewan or something.
