Quote:Him being better than Russell Wilson in college, give manziel play action in a pro system and by that I mean the offense we want to run. That makes him a top prospect to the jaguars
Ok I meant traits wise what makes him a top prospect?
OMG, Back Foot is just terrible, but nice arm, though.
Quote:He is much more than accurate. And the undersized thing is blown way out of proportion.
This is the point I was sarcastically trying to make. Kellen Moore blew away his opponents in college but has done nothing but ride the pine in the pros. Success in a mediocre conference doesn't necessarily translate to NFL stardom.
Quote:There are questions and concerns surrounding Clowney, but he is still a top five prospect. What is your point?
Clowney is the best player in this draft and will be a top 5 pick manziel can drop to the second
Not remotely the same. Nobody was big on Kellen Moore.
Quote:But we now have a new GM going into his second draft. He did pretty good last year. What Gene Smith did in the past is becoming increasingly irrelevant. Yet with all the change in this organization's FO and locker room attitude, all these hand wringers seem to think this teams future success rides solely on the narrow shoulders of a single untested college QB. Get a grip people.
Untested? People act like Louisville is in the MAC or CUSA. Formerly in the Big East, the Cardinals are still in a conference with an automatic BCS berth Next year, Louisville will be in the ACC. How do people get this silly idea that Louisville is not in the same class as Big Ten, Pacific 12, Big 12, and SEC teams?
I think you all are underestimating what the win at Tennessee has done for the future of this organization. 8 years from now, we'll look back and see that TN game as the pivital game in the Jags dynasty
Quote:Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Boomer Esiason all fell into the second round.
Brees was the first pick in the second round - not as bad as Geno Smith, who fell to #39.
Quote:Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Boomer Esiason all fell into the second round.
Do you think QB starved teams these days especially in this QB driven league will allow those caliber players to slip through the cracks? I mean every decade you might get a Tom Brady and Russell Wilson but it doesn't happen often. Kaepernick is another QB that fell in the second round at 36 but mostly because many thought he was raw.

And Success in the SEC does?

How so?

We are not going to be a dynasty in the near future, but that game was definitely a turning point for us.

Moore also had very very few NFL level skills. And Bridgewater plays in a BCS conference. Not at all the same.

Average team for decades.

No, I wouldn't count on it.
One of my arguments for tanking was that with inferior draft position, we have to root for teams ahead of us to get it wrong, and that is unreliable, to say the least.
Just naming some notable QBs that fell.
Quote:And Success in the SEC does?
All conferences have great quarterbacks and terrible quarterbacks.
Quote:Ok I meant traits wise what makes him a top prospect?
The same traits as Wilson is that hard to understand? I said he's better than Wilson so I guess that would mean his traits but better

Some teams almost did help us and forgot to play the whole 60 minutes. So it is not always a bad thing.

Other than similar height and mobility they're nothing alike

No, that means he has more quarterback skills than Wilson.
